Our Story

In the fall of 2021, Sammy and Kyle both found themselves starting fresh in Austin, Texas. Kyle had moved on a whim with friends, with no set plan, while Sammy arrived determined to begin a brand-new chapter, a new city, a new job, and not a single familiar face.

One night, fate put them in the same bar. As Kyle was heading out, Sammy decided she wanted her new friends to meet more people and made a split-second choice: the next person she saw would be invited over. The first person to appear? Kyle. She waved him over with his friends, and he ended up by her side the rest of the evening.

That night, Sammy discovered they shared a love for The Strokes and Cage the Elephant, and she even checked his Twitter to see if he was funny (he passed the test). By the end of the night, she was in the uber telling her roommate she had a crush on him.

They ran into each other again the very next night, and Kyle asked her out on a date that week. Their conversation flowed effortlessly, and they quickly realized they shared the same values and dreams.

From that week on, they were inseparable. In the fall of 2024, Kyle proposed. Today, they share an apartment in Austin with their two cats, Teddy Bear and Harlow, and look forward to settling somewhere between the South and New England after the wedding to be closer to their families.

May 2026 will mark more than four years together, and the start of their forever.
