Alex and Sara were high school sweethearts. It all began with a timeline assignment in Modern European History class - an assignment that Alex used to ask Sara to homecoming. The following week, they went on their first official date, which took place at Sekapp Orchard where they picked out pumpkins that they carved on their third date.

They connected over Stranger Things, The Office, and Game of Thrones. When in Rochester, the two would often frequent Flappdoodle’s Ice Cream and Newts where they would get burgers and nachos.

Their relationship went the distance during college when Alex was studying in Texas and Sara was in Missouri.

The couple were finally able to unite in Chicago. There, they got their first dog, Rusty! In the Windy City, Alex and Sara have explored many neighborhood restaurants and have taken Rusty on lots of walks along the lakefront. It was on one of those walks in January of 2025 that Alex asked Sara to marry him.

Sara and Alex look forward to celebrating their commitment and love for each other with family and friends in Florida and in Minnesota.
