Joseph had a coworker, Audrey, who always joked about setting him up with her friend. She asked if he liked girls with curly hair and Joseph said "I guess so." Months later, Sara was celebrating St. Patrick's Day at Byrne's Pub with her friends when Audrey mentioned that her coworker, Joseph, the one she had been teasing Sara about for a while, was on his way.
Joseph and Sara met, talked, and realized they had a lot of common connections: Sara was from Dayton and grew up across the street from UD where Joseph attended undergrad; Joseph knew two of Sara's cousins from high school in Cincinnati; and they'd both worked at Nationwide at the same time, where Joseph had also worked with Sara's roommate. They exchanged information and it seemed things might progress.
The next day, March 16, 2020, the world shut down due to a global pandemic (womp womp). After a few months of snapchatting, texting, and some very spaced out dates, they made it official on August 25, 2020. Three years later to the day, on a strip of the Scioto Mile in downtown Columbus, Joseph asked Sara to marry him and she said "I guess so!"
They now live in Italian Village with their adopted cat, Marty.
