St. Mary's has a parking lot with a limited number of spaces located directly behind the church. There is another parking lot behind the Junior High (corner of E Sycamore & 3rd St.) on the corner of Lazelle St. Free street parking is also available on 3rd St, Lazelle St, and surrounding neighborhood side streets. We'd recommend getting there early to get the closest parking, and carpooling or Ubering if possible if you don't want to walk a block or two.
Is there parking at the reception?
PARKING UPDATE 7/19: There is a parking lot with about 80 spaces, owned and maintained by St. Joseph's Cathedral, at or around 217 E Long St. at the corner of Elm and N 5th (about 1.5 blocks from the Athenaeum, caddy corner from Slammers) and we have confirmed that our guests may use the lot for free on Saturday. Please make sure if you are parking anywhere in downtown Columbus to remove all valuables from your car. If you're staying at the Renaissance, you can pay for valet parking with in and out privileges for $45 a day. In addition, limited on-street parking is available (with some restrictions) as well as dozens of public parking lots within a 3 block radius of the venue.
Are my kids invited?
Unfortunately we are only able to accommodate the children in the wedding party at our reception and otherwise request this be an adults-only affair.* We thank you for your understanding and hope that with this notice, you will be able to make arrangements to attend our wedding.
*We are happy to make exceptions for nursing babies who can sit on your lap and don't require a meal. Please reach out to Sara, Joseph, Colleen, or Donna to notify us if you are planning to bring an infant.
I'm not from Columbus. Any recommendations about what to do before or after the wedding?
Sara has been preparing for this her entire life. Check out the Things to Do page for our top picks of restaurants, bars, and places to check out while you're visiting!
This schedule looks tight. Will I have time to go anywhere between the Ceremony and Reception?
The Wedding Ceremony starts at 6:00pm and will last roughly 45 minutes to 1 hour. The Reception is located less than 10 minutes from the church, and mere steps away from the Renaissance Hotel where we have a room block. Cocktail Hour kicks off the Reception at 7:00pm and will last roughly 45 minutes (so really it's a Cocktail *Almost* Hour). You should have plenty of time to mosey over to the Athenaeum from St. Mary's and stop at your hotel on the way. Just make sure you're at the Athenaeum by 7:30pm so you don't miss any of the fun!
Is there a hotel room block?
We had a room block at the Renaissance Columbus Downtown Hotel, however, due to limited availability and the Renaissance being close to capacity, the block is full as of May 10th. We've added a few other hotels near the venue to the Travel & Accommodations page. Because of other events in the city the weekend of our wedding, we recommend booking ASAP.
