Our Story

We found each other on Hinge, a dating app, in June 2018. Sarah was a little weary of matching Josh since he was wearing a Michigan shirt - which she grew up believing Northwestern and Michigan were rival football teams, which was later debunked by Josh - but Sarah couldn’t pass up a man with such beautiful blue eyes. Josh couldn’t resist Sarah’s smile and saw that she seemed to be well traveled and down to earth. We both made each other laugh by just a mere glimpse of our profiles - especially since we both cleverly quoted The Office, which always deserves a swipe right.

We knew that we would be compatible based on our sarcastic personalities and our love of having a good time! A couple weeks of talking we decided to meet each other in person. On our first date we talked for hours laughing and getting to know each other. We didn’t make it official until 3 months later when Josh asked romantically, “When are you gonna be my girlfriend?” after a fun filled weekend at Grandoozy Music Festival in Denver.

Josh quickly adopted Oliver as his own and became the best step father Sarah could have ever imagined. In 3 months, we told each other we loved each other in front of the Penguin Exhibit at the Denver Zoo Christmas Lights - which will always be remembered as when we “fell in love.”

March was our first vacation together to Cancun and obviously not our last with trips to Steamboat, South Dakota, Crested Butte, Telluride, Ouray, St. Thomas, Maine, San Diego, Cabo, Seattle and Multiple road trips to the Midwest to see both our families - Josh being from Michigan and Sarah from Illinois.

We moved in within a year of dating into a cute little 2 bedroom apartment at Colorado Pointe. We made it through many struggles of Covid with a lot of homemade meals, Sarah making Josh play cards/games, multiple daily walks with Oliver, late night YouTube dance parties and played out almost every streaming service. We realized if we could get through this we can handle the rest of our lives.

Josh surprised Sarah with a proposal 2 years to the day when we first said I Love You at that memorable Penguin Exhibit. We opened Christmas presents in early December when Josh told Sarah he had a bigger present in the other room - which came to be 2 stuffed Penguins and a plethora of Christmas lights with the beautiful opal engagement ring shining bright in the middle of it all. Josh tried to get on one knee and give a heartfelt speech but Sarah was too overwhelmed to let him speak. Obviously she said yes- or else you wouldn’t be reading this.

We decided to buy a house in February 2021 in the cute area of Midtown Denver. Come Visit Us!

We’re almost always busy hanging out with friends, going to a concert, grabbing a drink at a local distillery, trying new restaurants, downhill skiing, or planning our next trip to check off of our never ending bucket list!

Happy to say we found our human and that's always a good excuse to Celebrate!!!
