Our Story

AC: Their story began over Memorial Day weekend back in 2020. They were both vacationing over the long weekend down in Destin, FL with friends. They had both recently joined the dating app bumble and little did they know they would not be on it for long. It was Saturday afternoon and AJ was relaxing on the beach with one of his best friends Austin and his wife, Taylor. Savannah, on the other hand and to no surprise, was out at crab Island on a yacht with all her friends from Atlanta. They were both swiping away on the app and ended up matching. They talked a little on the app over the weekend and ended up going back home not knowing how far apart they lived from each other. The talking continued until they finally decided to meet up one Sunday afternoon for their first official date. AJ drove up to Atlanta that Sunday, not knowing what he was getting himself into and he definitely did not regret it.

AJ knew he was in it for the long haul when he would come home from work, and every time Savannah would come down to visit, she had moved more of her stuff into his house. After a couple of trips, he was pretty sure she had more stuff at his house down in Columbus, GA than she did at her apartment in Atlanta. Savannah and Milo would end up spending their weeks down in Columbus and weekends up in Atlanta. All her friends probably thought she was being kidnapped because she was spending more time with this man, than she was with them, and that was definitely out of character for her. After about 6 months of talking, Savannah was on a trip in Mexico with her girl friends and asked AJ to be her boyfriend ha (she might have a different version of the story).

After many trips and a cross country road trip, Savannah and AJ decided to move to Nashville, TN at the end of 2021 and have called it home for the past two years. This trip was unique in the sense that it is what led them to choosing Whitefish Montana for their wedding. They hit 5 national parks during their cross-country road trip, Glacier National Park and the town of Whitefish being their last stop. Savannah, loving the city, Whitefish was right up her alley. While AJ prefers the peace and quiet, Whitefish was just quaint enough to have him hooked. Savannah and AJ both love the outdoors, hiking, biking (kind of), Kayaking, boating, horseback riding, and such. This place had all of that and more. They both fell in love with the town and park. So much that they came back the following year for a 10 day trip and can’t want to be back in 2024 to celebrate with those closest to them! Now to the engagement, AJ, with the help of Savannahs best friend, Kelli, was able to plan the perfect surprise. Savannah and AJ went on their weekly date night one Friday afternoon for a sunset hike just outside of Nashville. It was a little hotter than expected that evening but they finally made it to the top of hike. The tripod was set up and Savannah was ready to take the hundreds of photos she is known to take. After a few quick shots, AJ decided now was the moment. He took the chance and asked his best friend to marry him on top of that mountain.
