Seal Bay Nature Park

Bates Rd, Courtenay, BC V9J 1X4, Canada
(250) 334-6000
Sean's favourite place! Take a peaceful nature walk/run through an old growth rainforest, and go down to the ocean where Sean proposed to Danielle! Suitable for all ages, and would recommend wearing running shoes or good sandals. There's a great chance of seeing eagles, crabs, hawks, and seals here! The seals sang us the song of their people when Sean proposed.

Goose Spit Park

60 Hawkins Rd, Comox, BC V9M 3W7, Canada
(250) 339-2421
Danielle's favourite place! At low tide, you can walk down the left side of the beach for kilometers, to a place called "Little Mexico". Its massive white sandy beaches are perfect for getting away from the crowd, enjoying the ocean and mountains, swimming, snorkeling, paddleboarding, floating, and looking for sea creatures. The ocean water is perfect for swimming this time of year, and you'll see sea otters, seals, eagles, star fish, dungeness crabs, and more.
You can also take the Goose Spit stairs (300 of them!) with many stops along the way, to catch amazing views of the ocean and surrounding mountains (great place to run and do stair intervals!). The stairs lead to a network of trails that can be followed in a loop back down to the parking area. Bathrooms on site.
Brown's River Falls

Comox-Strathcona C, BC V9J, Canada
This hidden gem is found on the way to Mount Washington from the Comox Valley!
The trail to Brown's River Falls is a fantastic trail that's very short (less than 1km) but with enough challenges to keep it interesting. There is a rope provided to hold onto as you make your way down the final descent to the falls. The waterfall is private and the water is clean and beautiful!
We have seen lots of children here, so don't let the ropes deter you! This is a great place to swim and have some beverages. You can even climb and jump off the falls. The human-sized potholes at the top of the waterfall are super cool to explore. See the attached website for details and directions.
Hike Mount Albert-Edward

Trail starts at the Raven Lodge (where the wedding is!) This mountain hike is for those looking for an intense challenge! This hike can be done in a VERY long day trip (approximately 38km), but we did it over 2 days and camped at the beautiful Circlet Lake. Albert Edward is not for the faint of heart and is a breathtaking hike in the alpine with insane 360 degree alpine views! One of our favourites, and Koda (our dog) hiked it too!

China Bowls (Perseverance Creek/Cumberland Potholes)

Broadway, Comox Valley, BC V0R
Easy/moderate 30 minute (2.1km) walk to Perseverance Creek in Cumberland Forest. These stunning rock formations are the result of centuries of erosion, creating a series of deep, bowl-shaped depressions within the forested landscape. The bowls themselves resemble giant teacups formed by swirling currents from the receding glaciers, leaving behind an otherworldly sight that is simply breathtaking.
Trent Falls

BC-19, Comox Valley, BC V0R 1S0
A fun and quick adventure to see a hidden waterfall in a canyon. Park on the side of highway 19 and walk 15-20 minutes (1 km) through the forest along a flat, wide trail. As you descend into the canyon, there's some roped sections to hold onto.
