My first impression of Shelby was in the bible study we both attended. She was discussing the accuracy of scripture with a passion I had never seen before, and it got my attention. Over the next few months, as I got to know her better, I was drawn to her more and more. Before long, I was strategizing with my college roommates on how best to pursue her. On Sunday, May 8th 2022 at A&M Church of Christ after Dean Barham (our officiant) preached a sermon about the qualities of the kind of woman you want to date, I asked Shelby on our first date. She was not aware that this was a date at the time, but it ended up working out. Obviously.
After our first date, I called my Mom and told her I had just gone on a date with my future wife, and I never looked back. Now, just shy of two years after that first date, I am making good on that crazy prediction I made to my Mom. Or was it a promise? I prayed for many, many days that Shelby would be my wife after that first date, and it is clear to me that God has been involved from the very beginning, and He has involved many other people in the story of our relationship as well, including you! We are inviting you because you have had some sort of impact on Shelbys life, or mine, or both! You are part of our story, and I want to thank you for that. Please enjoy our wedding.
