When we were just toddlers, you see, Shawn was introduced to me. From Girl Scouts to skis, We’ve had a friendship of ease, With singalongs, and concerts setting us free! Through laughter so hard I nearly cried, (Or, let’s be real— pants were compromised!) We’ve camped, We’ve crafted We’ve traveled and river rafted Our stories are well memorized Like us as 4th graders singing “Dancing Queen” Or Chambong nights fueling the party machine She lifts up my soul, Inspires me whole, And brightens the world all have seen. Matt let Evan live in his garage for four months when they met. Matt regrets that decision to this day. He’s good with money and he’ll let you know about it

Shawn was born a little over two years before me and entertained a life of bliss before I came into it. Once in this world, I quickly overtook her in height and stole so much attention from her that the story of her pushing me down the garage steps when I could barely walk is still told around the dinner table. From adverse beginnings blossomed a strong bond that has gotten us through both wonderful and difficult times. We shared clothes through high school (unwillingly) and once we were both in college I began to realize what a fun and ambitious human being I had been blessed with as a sister. We both share a love for education and a strong desire to make the world a better place (it could have been all those years we spent in Girl Scouts together). I could not be more proud to have Shawn in my corner, no matter what comes at us. This year we are both getting married- me just a few months before her (ha!). I am so excited to expand our family and to finally have a brother! I look forward to the following decades of being there for each other even when we are hundreds of miles away.

Jd and Evan played in a few bands together and formed a close bond. He is the tallest and youngest of all the groomsmen. Perhaps the youngest groomsman of all time

Shawn and I were born cousins, but in reality, we were raised as sisters. She was there when I was born and we were inseparable growing up. Between Shawn, her sister Hillary, and my two sisters, the five us of were quite the pack. I loved Shawn so much, I decided to follow her to Santa Barbara City College where we both pursued our undergrads (and drank more crappy beer during “power hour” to last us a lifetime). I can always count on Shawn to be my dancing partner at concerts, my winning partner in corn hole, and the person to force feed me tequila shots and chambongs ;) Shawn is the life of every party, hilariously energetic and has a heart of gold. I am so proud of the person she has become, and I feel blessed to be able to stand next to her as she marries the love of her life. Evan is the perfect addition to our family, and I cannot wait to continue to keep having the best times of our lives together!

Dylan came home from Korea to find Evan living in his garage. He has told Evan on multiple occasions that he wishes he never came back. He’s a high school science teacher and father to Evan’s goddaughter Roz.

I met Shawn in 3rd grade, and we were pretty quickly inseparable. Whether we were pretending to be the Powerpuff Girls (I took this very seriously), dressing alike with our matching beanie babies, or scheming up any reason to spend more time together, we were obsessed with our friendship. When my family moved to Reno at the end of that school year, we were devastated—but luckily, our parents understood how important our bond was and made sure we stayed connected. We became very familiar with the Boomtown parking lot for pickup and drop-off! As life went on, we graduated from playdates to driving ourselves around, surviving school, traveling, and figuring out adulthood—sometimes talking a lot, sometimes going longer stretches. But always staying connected and no matter what, always picking up right where we left off. Whether we were innocently running around the Truckee Elementary playground or shamelessly tearing up a dancefloor in Reno (any dancefloor, we weren’t picky), we’ve made some pretty unforgettable memories. Now seeing her excitement to marry Evan and start their next chapter together is just another beautiful memory and stage in her story I have gotten to witness!

Taylor and Evan met in high school but became close friends later in life. Taylor is an air force veteran and writes country songs in his spare time.

Shawn and I met in 4th grade, and have made countless memories over the last 24 years. Where we really thrived was high school band, and I am curious if there has ever been a better jello wrestling duo than the two of us. We were lucky to live down the street from each other in college (aka SLO to Santa Barbara) and got to make even more memories at countless beach days and college parties (never forget the yellow wig). This wedding will be the most fun and unforgettable night with Shawn in the driver's seat, let's just hope there are no mailboxes in her pathway.

Remington and Evan met in high school and bonded over music. He’s also allergic to attention so best to keep this short.

Shawny and I first met as co-workers at Wild Cherries Coffee House in Truckee, nearly 15 years ago. All this time later, we still giggle reminiscing about all the hilarious stories from those years! From day one, Shawny and I formed a friendship like no other and I am so honored she chose me to be a part of her special day! Through it all, she has been a loyal friend. Shawn has truly been a rock for me; always there when I need someone to listen, always understanding and always tells it like it is! She keeps me grounded and reminds me not to take life too seriously. I am certain I have never laughed so hard in my life, as I have with Shawny! At this point, I feel as though I am extended family. I am beyond excited to help send her off on this new journey of marriage and I have no doubt our friendship will last the test of time!

Mason prefers to be left alone

From the moment we met as two lost souls wandering around the airport in Costa Rica, Chonny and I immediately became inseparable! Our semester by the beach in Puntarenas bonded us for life. We spent every day together. Ripping our bicycles around town, playing in the waves, climbing volcanoes, trekking through the jungle, gawking at sloths and monkeys, salsa dancing all night, drinking heaps of cuba libres, eating waaay too many peanut butter and jelly sangas, and laughing so hard we could explode! My host papa Jose, loved that we were flying around everywhere together and named us Palomita Blanca and Palomita Negra (little white dove and little black dove) as I was wearing a white shirt and Shawny was wearing black. To this day I carry this incredible memory tattooed on my wrist and see little birdy Shawn every time I eat a snack, check the time or wipe my butt haha. It has been such a pleasure to get to know the legendary and incredible tuna fish, and I am so excited that he has swam into Shawny's life! My heart is so full from their love and I am beyond excited for their magical future together. Yay!

Michael and Evan met through his brother Matt. Michael is a Big cat guy

Shawn and I met in undergrad at the University of Nevada, Reno and our paths aligned as we pursued the same major and minor. We especially bonded after returning from study abroad experiences in 2016 and sharing our love of travel and culture with one another. Our last two years of undergrad were filled with shared classes, writing research papers, and loads of studying, but our friendship blossomed along the way! Shawn is the sun, always shining brightly and inspiring joy wherever she goes and in everyone she meets. I knew that whenever Shawn and I were together, I was in for a good time. I don’t recall a time where I have left a get-together with Shawn and my cheeks haven’t hurt from smiling and laughing so hard. Shawn is always the life of the party, the most caring person in the room, and the best friend you could ask for. When Shawn first told me about Evan, I knew he was different. The way she talked about him could not compare to anyone else. His thoughtfulness, patience, and attentiveness are the perfect yin to Shawn’s yang, and they share the most beautiful, balanced devotion to each other. I had the privilege of having Shawn stand by my side while I married my soulmate this last June, and I couldn’t be more excited to do the same for her when she ties the knot with Evan! I love our friendship and am so grateful to be part of Shawny’s special day. To many more years of love and friendship!
