We've planned an optional outdoor activity for people on Saturday morning. There's 3 options, depending on skill level and interest. All three start near the University of Utah / Red Butte Garden area in the north east part of the city.
1. Easy walk in Red Butte Garden
2. Moderate hike to The LivingRoom
3. Challenging hike up Mt. Wire
1. Easy walk in Red Butte Garden is a morning stroll in the garden before the day gets warm. Enjoy the beautiful flowers and greenery. There's a paved pathway through the Botanical Garden where you can enjoy the flowers and plants (~$16 entry fee). This is a DIY activity that can start at any time in the morning after they open at 9am.
2. Moderate hike to The LivingRoom will end at an overlook of the Salt Lake valley. Bring snacks, water, sunscreen, hat, and sunglasses. Meet at the trailhead by 8:45. Trip leaders will leave at 9am.
3. Challenging hike up Mt. Wire will end at a tower overlooking the mountains and Salt Lake Valley. Bring snacks, ample water, sunscreen, hat, and sunglasses. Meet at the trailhead by 8:45. Trip leaders will leave at 9am.
