General Wedding Details

1. What time does the ceremony start?

The ceremony will begin at 4:00 PM. Please be sure to arrive at least 30 minutes early to allow time for parking and seating. For more details, please check the "Travel & Accommodations" page on our website.

2. When should I arrive at the venue?

We recommend arriving 30 minutes before the ceremony starts to ensure you're settled in before things begin.

3. What is the dress code for the wedding?

The dress code is cocktail attire, so suits and knee-length or longer dresses are great. If you’d like to dress more formally—such as wearing a tuxedo or an evening gown—you’re more than welcome to. We kindly ask that guests avoid jeans, sneakers, and other casual clothing. We’d love to see everyone looking their best!

4. When is the RSVP deadline, and how do I RSVP?

Please RSVP by September 10, 2025. More details on how to RSVP will be included in the wedding invitation, which will be sent in mid to late summer. We can’t wait to celebrate with you!

5. Can I bring a plus-one?

We’d love to celebrate with all our friends and family, but due to venue capacity and planning, we’re only able to accommodate the guests listed on the invitation. If you have been given a plus-one, it will be clearly stated on your invitation. If you are unsure, please reach out to either the bride or groom and we will be happy to clarify any confusion!

Travel & Accommodations

6. Are there recommended hotels or room blocks?

Yes! We’ve reserved a room block and have hotel recommendations for our guests. You can find all the details on the Travel and Accommodations page of our website. Please check there for booking information and any special rates.

7. Is transportation provided to and from the venue?

At this time, we are not providing transportation to and from the venue. However, there are several hotel options nearby, all within a short driving distance. We recommend planning ahead and allowing enough time for travel when deciding on your arrival time. For those who would like to fully enjoy the festivities, we encourage using rideshare services like Uber or Lyft for a safe and convenient way to get to and from the venue.

8. Is there parking at the venue?

There is ample street parking and public parking lots throughout the town. Specifically, there is available street parking in the downtown area including off of Mill St, East St, Broadway, George St, and Route 12/Main St. For additional details, please visit the following website: https://richmond-il.com/downtown-parking-map/

9. What is the closet airport?

There are two airports we recommend using: General Mitchell International Airport (MKE) in Milwaukee and O’Hare International Airport (ORD) in Chicago. Both are great options, with MKE about 55 miles away and ORD around 52 miles away. We truly appreciate our guests who are traveling to celebrate with us! For more details on accommodations and travel recommendations, please visit the Travel and Accommodations page on our website.

Ceremony & Reception

10. Is the ceremony indoors or outdoors?

The ceremony will be held outdoors, providing a beautiful backdrop for our special day. In the event of inclement weather, we have a contingency plan in place to move the ceremony to a covered or indoor space at the venue. We’ll be keeping an eye on the forecast and will update guests if any changes need to be made. We recommend dressing accordingly for an outdoor setting, and we can’t wait to celebrate with you!

11. Will the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception all be in the same venue?

Yes! All events will take place at the same venue, The District. There will not be a need to travel between different venue locations.

12. Will there be a cocktail hour?

Yes! Cocktail hour will begin immediately after the ceremony. Guests can enjoy a selection of drinks and appetizers while mingling before the reception begins. We hope you take this time to relax and enjoy some great food and drinks.

13. What type of food will be served?

Dinner will be served buffet style and will include a variety of dish options, including a vegetarian and gluten free option. We want to make sure all of our guests are accommodated, so if you have any dietary restrictions, please let us know in advance.

14. Will there be an open bar?

Yes! We will have an open bar offering a selection of domestic and craft beers, domestic and imported wines, and a variety of liquors for all guests of legal drinking age. Non-alcoholic options, including water, soda, lemonade, and iced tea, will also be available. We want our guests to enjoy the celebration, so have a drink (or a few) with us! That said, please drink responsibly, especially if you plan to drive home. Rideshare services like Uber and Lyft are available in the area, and we encourage using them if needed.

15. Are kids allowed at the wedding?

While we love your little ones, we have chosen to make our wedding an adults-only celebration. We hope you can use this as an opportunity to enjoy a fun night out with us! We appreciate your understanding and can’t wait to celebrate together.

Special Requests & Etiquette

16. Can I take photos during the ceremony?

We kindly ask that all guests refrain from taking photos or videos during the ceremony—we’re having an unplugged ceremony because we want everyone to be fully present in the moment with us. We’ve hired an amazing photography and videography team to capture our special day, so you can sit back, enjoy the ceremony, and celebrate with us. We can’t wait to share those photos and videos with you afterward! Thank you for respecting our wishes.

17. What should I do if I have dietary restrictions?

We want all of our guests to enjoy the meal, so if you have any dietary restrictions or allergies, please let us know when you RSVP and we’ll do our best to accommodate you.
