Immaculate Conception has been a staple of the Shaw-Logan Circle neighborhood of DC for over 160 years, offering a space for old and new residents to worship together as the city evolves. It has also been a staple of our relationship as it's evolved, and we're very grateful to marry there.
St. Francis Hall is a part of the Fransiscan Monastery of the Holy Land, a religious order dedicated to supporting Christian life in the Holy Land by providing schools, housing, poverty relief, and refugee assistance in the Middle East. Here in DC, the monastery operates one of the largest botanical gardens in the city, providing over 5,000 pounds of produce annually to local food banks. Occasionally, Sophia and Jared venture over to garden with a sundry crowd of volunteers and soon-to-be-friars.
