For our out-of-town guests, we hope this guide gives you a glimpse into some of the things you can do whilst visiting Vancouver! This city is packed with amazing things to see and do, and we’ve put together a list of some of our favourite spots to help you make the most of your trip. Whether you’re into scenic views, wildlife, good food, or just want to wander and explore, there’s something here for everyone. We'd recommend keeping 2-3 days to explore, if you have the time.
The Capilano Suspension Bridge is a must-see if you're exploring North Vancouver! This iconic, swaying bridge stretches 137 metres across and 70 metres above the Capilano River, surrounded by lush rainforest. It's a fun (and slightly thrilling!) way to take in the natural beauty of the West Coast. It's easy to get the bus there from Downtown Vancouver or Lonsdale Quay on the North Shore.
Grouse Mountain is a classic North Vancouver summer adventure! Take the scenic cable car up to the peak for epic views of the city and ocean below. At the top, you can catch the fun and cheesy Lumberjack Show, visit the two resident grizzly bears in their mountain sanctuary, and explore hiking trails or just relax with a drink in hand. It’s a great mix of nature, entertainment, and amazing photos!
Stanley Park is a must-visit just next to downtown Vancouver, offering the perfect mix of nature and city vibes. Stroll or bike the scenic seawall, wander through lush forest trails, check out the famous totem poles, and don’t miss the Vancouver Aquarium. With beaches, gardens, and stunning views all around, it’s an ideal spot for a relaxed afternoon outdoors.
The Vancouver Lookout is a great way to kick off your visit and get your bearings. Take the glass elevator up to the top for 360° views of the city, mountains, and ocean. It’s a quick stop but totally worth it—especially if you want to snap some amazing photos or just take in how beautiful Vancouver is from above.
Granville Island is a fun and artsy spot just across the bridge from downtown Vancouver. The Public Market is the main attraction, packed with fresh food, local treats, and handmade crafts. You’ll also find galleries, theatres, cute shops, street performers, and great places to eat by the water.
The Prince of Whales is an unforgettable way to experience the wild side of the West Coast. Departing right from downtown Vancouver, their tours take you out into the Salish Sea in search of orcas, humpbacks, sea lions, and more. The boats are comfortable, the guides are super knowledgeable, and the scenery is unreal—definitely a bucket-list experience if you're up for a little adventure!
