Are the ceremony and reception in the same place?
Our ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception will all be held at the Inn at Bay Harbor. Lodging is also available at our venue (see the "travel" page).
Will there be a shuttle provided from other hotels?
There will be shuttle service from several of the Petoskey hotels to the wedding venue, along with return trips at the end of the night. Please check back closer to the wedding date for shuttle schedule details. Shuttle pick-up locations will be based on where most of our guests are staying.
Is there parking at the venue?
Yes, there is free parking at the Inn at Bay Harbor, whether you have lodging there or not. Guests of our wedding may self park in the large lot in front of the resort (no validation required), or use the gratuity-based valet service at the main entrance.
Can cars be left overnight at the venue?
If you drive to the wedding and end up having a little too much fun, rest assured you may leave your vehicle in the resort parking lot overnight and carpool or take the shuttle back to your accommodations.
How and when do I RSVP?
You will receive an invitation closer to the wedding date with instructions on how and when to RSVP. We hope you can make it and can't wait to celebrate with you!
Can I bring a plus one?
Unfortunately, due to limited space we simply can’t afford for all of our lovely guests to bring a guest of their own. Plus ones are therefore by invitation only and we ask other guests to please not bring a plus one. Thank you so much for understanding!
Are children invited?
While we adore your children, our venues do not have the room for your little ones. Therefore, this will be a 21+ only weekend. Please make these date nights. We can’t wait to celebrate with you!
What is the dress code?
The wedding party will be in formal wedding attire, and it's preferred for all guests. For men, this means a classic suit with a tie, and formal evening wear for women (floor-length dresses or evening pantsuits).
The Welcome Party is semi-formal attire such as a midi- or cocktail-length dress or dressy separates for women and a suit with a jacket preferred for men.
What colors should I avoid wearing to the wedding?
We kindly ask that ladies avoid wearing any shades of white, blue, and gold/champagne. We appreciate your understanding!
Will the wedding be outdoors?
Weather permitting, the ceremony will take place outside on the lawn next to Lake Michigan. Cocktail hour will be on the lawn and tented terrace. The reception will be indoor/outdoor with dining in the Sagamore Room and dancing under the tent on the terrace.
When selecting your shoes and attire, please keep in mind the ceremony will be on grass, and a jacket may be necessary with the breeze coming off the lake.
How early can I arrive for the ceremony?
If you will be taking the shuttle, please check back for a list of shuttle times and locations closer to the wedding. If you are driving, you may arrive as early as half an hour prior to the ceremony start time.
What about travel, airports, and hotels?
Please check out our travel page for recommendations on which airports to fly into and where to stay. June is a busy time for tourism in the area, so reserve travel and lodging as soon as you know you are able to attend!
