Across the street from the Village of Bay Harbor, Gypsy Distillery has taken over what used to be the Bay Harbor Equestrian Center. Situated on a bluff overlooking Little Traverse Bay, and located in the old stable and riding arena, the vibe could not be any cooler!
If you have time to kill before the ceremony, check out some of the finest classic cars and wooden boats right along Main Street in Bay Harbor, next to the shops and restaurants. Free admission and parking.

Situated on a bluff overlooking Bay Harbor and the Little Traverse Bay, and known for its undulating greens, Crooked Tree offers a fantastic golf course that's a bit more casual and better-suited for beginners.
This 26-mile trail from Charlevoix to Harbor Springs runs right through Bay Harbor and Petoskey and offers a paved bike path along Lake Michigan. If you're staying in Bay Harbor, ask your front desk agent for a map! You can rent e-bikes from the Inn at Bay Harbor and access the path right in front of the resort.
Search for Petoskey stones on the sandy beach along the shores of Lake Michigan at Petoskey State Park. Lake to Lake Rentals offers kayak and paddleboard rentals on-site.
The LTB Ferry offers scenic transportation between Bay Harbor, Petoskey, and Harbor Springs. Sunset cruises are also available aboard the Harbor Princess! Visit the website to see routes and purchase tickets.
The Bear River winds its way through Petoskey and features a 1.5-mile walking path, fishing at the dam near the mouth of the river, a charming footbridge, and even a small section of whitewater rafting.
Why not start right in Bay Harbor where our wedding is taking place? Stroll the quaint brick main street lined with upscale shops and galleries, enjoy the view of the marina with luxury yachts and antique wooden boats, and try one of the fabulous dining options.
Explore the charming town of Petoskey, full of shops, restaurants, coffee shops, and ice cream spots. Walk through the pedestrian tunnel to the beautiful waterfront park, or take a stroll through historic Bay View and see the Victorian-style cottages. Visit famed hangouts of Ernest Hemingway, like City Park Grill, a local favorite restaurant.
A charming village on Walloon Lake about 15 minutes from Bay Harbor or Petoskey. Enjoy casual dining with a view at the Barrel Back Restaurant or fine dining at Walloon Lake Inn. Walloon Lake Boat Company offers boat tours, or you can rent a boat and watersports equipment from Tommy's Boats or Walloon Central Marine.
Downtown Charlevoix has so much to offer, just a 20-minute drive from Bay Harbor. Attractions include the Lake Charlevoix channel and South Pier Lighthouse, tons of cute shops and restaurants, sandy beaches, East Park and marina, and the iconic drawbridge. Grab coffee and pastries at That French Place or Harwood Gold, enjoy both casual and fine dining options at Grey Gables, or taste the local beers at the Bridge Street Tap Room.
Yet another small Northern Michigan town on the water with a charming main street full of shops, ice cream parlors, and restaurants. Cafe Santé and Red Mesa Grill are dining staples. Grab a drink at Stigg's Brewery or Boyne City Tap Room.
While a little farther away, this waterfront town at the north end of Little Traverse Bay is worth visiting. It's a 25-minute drive from Bay Harbor, or about 20 minutes from Petoskey. The Tunnel of Trees scenic drive attracts visitors from around the country. Local favorites are Tom's Mom's Cookies and Pond Hill Farm.
