We met as parters for an English project at Georgia Tech, became fast friends, and started dating on November 11, 2017. For our first unofficial date we accidentally watched a movie together when our friends cancelled last-minute. For our first official date we were very creative and watched another movie in the same theater.

Our first vacation with friends in Hilton Head, SC. Just to make sure we can coexist outside a college campus.

One-year anniversary! We visited the High Museum of Art in Atlanta.

Night at the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra. Sunny definitely didn't fall asleep halfway through the performance. Listen, it was finals week, okay?

For our second anniversary, we went to the Atlanta Humane Society "just to look at the cats I promise" and left with a 3-legged kitten the moment he became adoptable. We brought Bean to our dorm room (shhh, definitely NOT allowed) for a few hours, where he zoomed around and swatted fairy lights, before bringing him to Sunny's family home.

We both graduated from Georgia Tech in 2020 but didn't get a graduation ceremony so we did our own rainy grad photoshoot. 'Twas the start of a year of long-distance as Sunny moved to DC shortly thereafter.

A long year of many, many silly video calls as Sunny started her Master's in Anesthesia and Evan did his Master's in Electrical Engineering. Here we are demonstrating what Evan's cowlick (which doubles as an antenna to communicate with aliens) looks like.

One of three DC visits between 2020 and 2021 where we got a rare weekend together. This warm afternoon, we biked around the city and had a picnic on the National Mall.

We finally moved in together! Here's the first evening we spent in our empty Maryland apartment.

On a lunch date at a restaurant in DC. First of many bottomless brunches.

An ambitious trip around the entirety of Iceland after Sunny's graduation from anesthesia school. We slept in a van in four layers of clothes and survived on peanut butter and jerky. To this day we still dream of going back again.

Welcomed Kaffi to our home! She barely had fur on her little rat tail and was covered in itchy flea bites, hence the paper plate cone. Even in this photo you can see how vocal she is when she's indignant.

Kaffi and Bean finally get along after many months of hissing. All it took was a joint New Year's relocation to a house with a common enemy: Evan's dog Ruby. They saw sense at last.

One of our favorite activities: perusing the farmer's markets of DC, getting little treats and knickknacks that spark joy, and picking up "just one more plant" for our indoor jungle.

We get engaged in the Japanese Alps!

We spend our time nowadays cooking on weekends, taking care of our plants, reading books on the sofa, and (sometimes) running together. This is us, red-faced, after finishing a 5K.
