We met in Bentonville, Arkansas while working for Walmart.&nbsp; Damien had an open position on his team and ultimately hired a good friend of mine.&nbsp; Eventually, we all went out for after-work dinner & drinks.&nbsp; He was persistent enough to get my phone number.&nbsp; It took some convincing, but he finally got me to go on a date with him.&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;

&nbsp;I remember one day in the office in&nbsp;Bentonville&nbsp;spotting this vision that took my breath away.&nbsp; Little did I know one day the stars would align giving me the opportunity to smoothly sneak into her&nbsp;life.&nbsp;&nbsp;Every time&nbsp;I saw her she made me stop in my tracks.&nbsp;&nbsp;All I could say was daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaamn&hellip;

My team ended being expanded and I hired from within.&nbsp;&nbsp; One day as I was pretending to work hard I looked up and who did I see, yes it was her.&nbsp; She instantaneously made me speechless.&nbsp; Well here it was the girl that had me speechless was friends&nbsp;with one of my direct reports, Lisa.&nbsp;





Every time I heard she was coming by I tried to always be present just to be in her presence&hellip; especially once I had found out she was recently single.&nbsp;





One day&nbsp;Lisa&nbsp;started talking about their planned evening so&nbsp;I gave a few suggestions and hinted to not having any plans.&nbsp; Then&nbsp;it happened -&nbsp;&nbsp;the&nbsp;door opened, Lisa invited me to join them.&nbsp;&nbsp;That’s where it all began&hellip;.. 4 hours later I had a phone number and wasn’t afraid to use it.&nbsp;





From there I just kept on shooting -&nbsp;&nbsp;I&nbsp;got her to go out with me and that was it&hellip;.&nbsp; I now had the opportunity to&nbsp;be breathless day after day.&nbsp;

Owen's Bagel & Deli - South End

<a href="https://owensbagels.wordpress.com/menu-3/" target="_blank">Visit Website</a>One of Tara's favorite Saturday morning outings for breakfast.&nbsp; A very casual spot - but they serve a great steamed bagel.&nbsp; It is located in South End (south of Uptown...creative, I know - but really, a great part of town) and parking can get a little tight, but these bagels are worth the trip!

This airport is in town &&nbsp;close to the venue.&nbsp; The airport code is CLT.&nbsp; The hotels where we have room blocks will have shuttles to/from the airport.&nbsp; There are rental car options available at the airport,&nbsp;as well as Taxis, Uber, or Lyft.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Charlotte Douglas International Airport

The link to book a reservation is below.&nbsp; This hotel offers 24hr shuttle service to &&nbsp;from the Airport as well as our event venue.&nbsp; The phone number provided here is where you can schedule the shuttle.&nbsp; This discount is only good through June 20, 2018.

Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Charlotte Airport

The Renaissance is right around the corner from the venue.&nbsp; They offer shuttle services to/from the airport as well as the venue.&nbsp; I would like to note that they do charge $10/day for parking & they do not offer a complimentary breakfast.&nbsp; The link to book rooms are below.

Renaissance Charlotte Suites Hotel

The Light Rail is a convenient way to get Uptown.&nbsp; The address provided here is to the Scaleybark Station on South Blvd - one of the closer options to our venue.&nbsp; This is a good option if you aren't inclined to deal with parking in the Uptown area.&nbsp; We would also recommend Uber or Lyft if you don't want to drive at all.&nbsp;

Lynx Light Rail Scaleybark Station

DoubleTree is less than a mile down the road from the venue.&nbsp; They offer shuttles to/from the airport as well as the venue.&nbsp; If for some reason&nbsp;the Group Code does not automatically populate - be sure to enter it to get our discounted rate!&nbsp; It is: TRW&nbsp; The link to book rooms is below.

This hotel is located in Uptown.&nbsp; We don't have rooms blocked here, but wanted to list other options that are in the center-city area.&nbsp; They would likely not have a shuttle to/from the venue, but an Uber would be super easy to catch here.&nbsp; There are lots of places to get to just by walking!

Another hotel located in Uptown (there are a LOT&nbsp;more options than&nbsp;what I&nbsp;have listed here).&nbsp; We don't have rooms blocked here, but wanted to list other options that are in the center-city area.&nbsp; They would likely not have a shuttle to/from the venue, but an Uber would be super easy to catch here.&nbsp; There are lots of places to get to just by walking!

Science, Nature & Kids Museums located in Uptown (what Charlotteans call their "downtown" area).&nbsp;&nbsp;

Discovery Place Science

There are a LOT of breweries in Charlotte, but this is one of our favorites.&nbsp; Most of the breweries do not have kitchens, however they do have food trucks.&nbsp; You cannot go wrong with a food truck.&nbsp; The atmosphere here is very laid back, come-as-you-are type of place.&nbsp; Highly recommend it if you have the time!&nbsp;

Sycamore Brewing

This is very close to the airport.&nbsp; Fun fact:&nbsp; The airplane that crash landed in the Hudson River in NY (Miracle on the Hudson) was headed for Charlotte, NC.&nbsp; The remains of the plane are here at the Aviation Museum.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Carolinas Aviation Museum

This brewery is closer to our wedding venue with good beer&nbsp;&&nbsp;food!&nbsp; Their 'biergarten' is a great place to take the family and grab a bite.&nbsp; Unlike Sycamore, this brewery does have a restaurant section where they serve their own menu.&nbsp;&nbsp;

The Olde Mecklenburg Brewery

There are two different locations of the Mint Museum.&nbsp; The location provided here is for the one in the heart of Uptown (again, what Charlotteans call the 'downtown' area).&nbsp; There are parking garages available, however, we generally will Uber or park & take the Light&nbsp;Rail (see note on the Light&nbsp;Rail in the Transportation section).

Mint Museum UPTOWN

This is on the southern edge of Uptown.&nbsp; There is also a Buffalo Wild Wings in the same building where you can grab a bite after taking a tour.

NASCAR Hall of Fame

A theme park with roller coasters, water park & various rides.&nbsp; It is located on the boarder of North and South Carolina.

Carowinds

This is a&nbsp;really fun outdoor experience.&nbsp; There are bike trails (you can rent gear!), various water activities (whitewater rafting or flatwater), climbing walls, jumps & zip lines.&nbsp; You can also grab a bite and a cold one for a break in between activities.&nbsp;&nbsp;

U.S. National Whitewater Center

Another museum located in Uptown.&nbsp; The 'Levine' name is from Leon&nbsp;Levine, the founder of Family Dollar whose headquarters is in the Charlotte area.

Levine Museum of the New South

For the Shoppers - the Outlet Mall is also near the venue (and the hotels where we will&nbsp;block rooms).&nbsp; This mall is outdoors - so be prepared for the heat when you come!

Charlotte Premium Outlets

Definitely the upscale mall of the Charlotte area, but it does have your typical department stores - Neiman Marcus, Macy's, Belk (headquartered in Charlotte &&nbsp;stores are generally located in the&nbsp;south), and Dillard's.

SouthPark

This restaurant has a great brunch.&nbsp; I'd recommend reservations though, because it can get crowded, depending on the time.&nbsp; You can make reservations through their website, but might have to call in depending on the party size.

Tupelo Honey

This is one of our favorite BBQ places.&nbsp; Consistently good food and they will have nearly any sporting event of the season on TV.&nbsp; They also serve a good selection of local beers.&nbsp; There are two locations in Charlotte, the address&nbsp;provided here is to their Steele Creek location, which is closer to the wedding venue.&nbsp; Both locations have nice outdoor patio spots if you're feeling up to it.
