Tawanna was born and raised in Oklahoma City, OK. She left Oklahoma to attend college in Jacksonville, Florida. Jerry is from Gainesville, Ga where he was born and raised. He left Gainesville to enlist in the Navy. Jerry ended up in Jacksonville Florida because of the military.

How we met?

Tawanna and Jerry met on May 4, 2003, which so happened to be the day after Tawanna graduated college with her undergraduate degree.

We met on the beach on May 4, 2003. We dated for two years. On May 4, 2005, Jerry proposed to Tawanna on the beach in the exact same spot that we met.

The Proposal!

Jerry is nicknamed "Jay" by Tawanna. On May 4, 2005, while I was at work I received notice that I had flower delivery. I received a dozen red roses with one yellow rose in the center. In the card attached, it read that Jay loved Tawanna and the red roses with one yellow rose symbolized love surrounded by friendship. Next, when I was about to clock out of work, I get word that there is a man in a suit at the door asking for Tawanna Jones (maiden name). It was a chauffeur y'all. Jay had a limo pick me up from work. The limo driver told me that Jay had sent for me and that he had specific instructions on where he was to take me. I didn't ask, I just enjoyed the limo ride. The limo stopped at the Omni Hotel Downtown Jacksonville, FL. The chauffeur opened my door and handed me a card with room keys. It read see you at 7pm sharp love Jay. I went to the hotel room. Inside on the bed, was two outfits that he picked out, two different pair of shoes, Victoria secrets, makeup, jewelry and perfume. He also had chocolate covered strawberries for me too. At 7pm Jay showed up at the door and the limo took us to Maggiano to eat dinner. (The limo had more chocolate covered strawberries and a bottle of Crystal champagne) Yall, I'm so nervous at this point. I could barely look at a Jay I was blushing so hard lol. After dinner, we get back in the limo and we drive for a little a while before stopping at the beach. Jay walked me onto the beach where we met and with the moonlight shining on us, Jay got down on one knee and proposed. I said yes. We got married the next year on May 4, 2006 in the exact same spot we met and that Jay proposed. Now of course now that brings us to today, now we're celebrating 20 years of life together.

As of Today,

Jerry is a veteran and travel nurse. Tawanna is an assistant principal. Together, we love to travel to the Carribean. We love to live, laugh and experience life to the fullest. With God the head of our lives we have survived, 20 years of marriage and 23 years of being with each other.

We are celebrating our journey of 20 years together. We created two beautiful children. Jayden who is the oldest is a student at the University of Michigan. He plans to be a doctor. Jaylah is the youngest of the two is a Junior at Gainesville High School where she is a great athlete . She plays basketball and volleyball and does track. She also does travel basketball. She plans to work in the medical field. We have two dogs named Bosley and Sandy. So

We have plans to retire and travel the world together. We have created a bucket list of places to visit over the years. We plan to travel to these places while retired.
