Our Wedding

Daniel and Tilly first met on her first evening in Wisconsin having just moved all the way from Texas, at dinner with a recent friend of Daniel and a life-long friend of Tilly.

At First Sight

The two instantly hit it off and became immediate friends, finding any excuse to spend as much time together as possible. For months they met every weekend (and several weekdays) together, usually with a group of friends, but focused more on each other.

A Friendship Blooms

On Valentine's Day of 2019, Daniel and Tilly had planned to get dinner together with several other friends, but they were the only ones who showed up. After dinner, unable to keep up the facade, Daniel ended the night by saying what a great time he had on their "date," to which Tilly agreed enthusiastically.

The First Date

After a few wonderful years of many more dates, wonderous travels, several bad photos, countless adventures, and endless laughter, Daniel was ready to pop the question.

Day By Day

Three days after Christmas of 2024, Daniel and Tilly had gone to a lovely garden downtown alone after spending time with her family. After oh-so-subtly finding the perfect spot, Daniel had asked Tilly to turn around to find him looking up at her on one knee.

The Question

After saying yes and holding back tears, they left the garden to find their loved ones, including Tilly's mom and two sisters who had inconspicuously helped her with the perfect outfit and nails just days before, as well as the very excited family and friends awaiting them outside (and on video) to congratulate them. We would be honored and overjoyed to have all our family and friends celebrate this union with us, and we thank you for reading our story.

Sarah and Daniel’s friendship goes all the way back to Ms. Boone’s freshman-year high school Biology class. Mid-way through the year, recognizing that Sarah could use a boost in her studies, Ms. Boone decided to perform an experiment - she rearranged her classroom to seat a bubbly, outgoing Sarah next to a studious, reserved Daniel. After several weeks of only talking about the Krebs cycle and mitochondria (the powerhouse of the cell), Sarah eventually found a way to break Daniel out of his social shell. From that day on and still to this day, they continue to be each other’s third-party therapists, shoulder to lean on, and doses of honesty when it’s most needed.

Kevin and Daniel were initially just distant colleagues at CUNA Mutual Group, but when they started working together, the two very quickly became friends. Aside from their many shared interests including music, tea/coffee, and disc golf, what Daniel admires the most in Kevin is his personal authenticity and empathy. The two frequently start simple conversations that inevitably become candid, philosophical discussions leading to a broader perspective and better understanding of life. Although the two are now hundreds of miles apart, they still frequently check in on each other and continue to share their adventures.

Alex and Daniel met when Daniel first joined CUNA Mutual Group. They bonded over a shared love for technical problem-solving, board games, and politically-incorrect responses in Jackbox games. Together with Tilly and Abby, they have had countless adventures throughout Wisconsin and annual trips to Mexico. Daniel continues to be in awe of Alex’s wit and knowledge of the latest and greatest memes of our decade.

Chris and Daniel first met - to no one’s surprise - on a basketball court just a few years ago when Daniel moved back to New York. Their friendship began with a shared love for the game but quickly expanded to sharing their individual interests and personal lives. Chris brings out the best in Daniel’s competitive spirit and constantly challenges him to be better than he is. On any given weekend or evening above 60 degrees, you can probably expect to find them goofing around with a basketball or elsewhere around the city.

Abby and Tilly met shortly after moving to Wisconsin, and quickly became best friends. They would hang out every single weekend, and dinner on Tuesdays, never tiring of each other's company. Tilly was the maid of honor at Abby's own wedding!

Mahy and Tilly have known each other since the sixth grade, and have a deep friendship that has stood the test of time and distance. Not only do they share many common interests, but they share a bond that will last a lifetime.

Cora is Tilly's first younger sister. The closeness they shared in childhood only grew stronger into adulthood. It really is true that a sister is a best friend you're born with.

Ella is Tilly's youngest sister. Being 9 years apart, Tilly got the opportunity to watch Ella grow up, and become even closer as they get older. Being an older sister is a blessing Tilly wouldn't trade for the world.

Parks is Tilly's older brother, and oldest friend. They've shared crazy adventures, late night shenanigans, and countless laughs. He was immediately welcoming to Daniel as he quickly became part of the family. Parks is selfless, caring, and fiercely loyal, and we couldn't imagine anyone better to officiate our wedding.

Travis and Trevor are brothers and, along with their sister Audrey, are Tilly's cousins.  They all grew up together spending holidays and summers together at "Camp Bebore" and "Camp Dana".  Tilly and Dan are honored these two cousins - who are now, in every sense of the word, true gentlemen - have agreed to be an important part of yet another special family day:  "Camp Tilly & Dan's Wedding"!

Please book hotels and flights as early as possible.Houston is a busy city, and Valentine's Day is a busy weekend. We recommend staying in the downtown area, since there is plenty to do there, and it's close to the venue. Houston is large and sprawling, so getting around the city takes more time than you think. We recommend that you plan well ahead when driving around the city and add an extra 15 minutes to whatever drive time your GPS tells you to arrive anywhere on time. Particularly on Friday at rush hour. Unlike many large cities, public transit is basically non-existent in Houston. So, if you are flying in, we recommend reserving a rental car in advance as well. Uber, Lyft and other ride share apps are helpful and an option, but can get expensive due to the expansive geography of the city.

If you are new to Houston, it's a great, big city with plenty to see and even more to eat!
