Q + A

Who’s invited?

We have chosen to (sort of) elope so we can exchange vows where we got engaged. Anyone present is welcome to come by to celebrate with us but for practical reasons (cost and availability of lodging) we fully understand if there are loved ones unable to make the trek. Our goal is to live-stream the ceremony so all can be included.

Time?

TBD… likely 4 or 4:30

Schedule

This will be a very casual family affair. We will be decorating and prepping food on Sunday the 5th, ceremony followed by an open reception on the 6th (time TBD), and packing up the rec center on the 7th. Most of all, we are especially looking forward to spending time with each of you throughout our time at Lake Siskiyou!

Will food be served?

Yes, we will have a nacho / taco bar available for guests to enjoy.

Can I bring my own alcohol?

Yes. We will have a champagne toast but we understand each family camps with their own favorite beverages so you are welcome to bring what you personally want to enjoy. The happy couple hopes consumption levels will allow you to remember their special day.

What’s the dress code?

We understand we are at a campground. Camping attire is welcome. Seriously come as you are just know we might snap a picture or two (or twelve) but no formal arrire is expected for guests. Still confused? Consider a polo shirt & shorts as an example but if you show up in a swimsuit you are still welcome!

What can I expect at the reception?

There will be space both inside the rec center and on the adjacent deck. To maximize space there will not be a formal sitdown dinner so you are welcome to come grab some food, dance, give the happy couple a hug (that’s the part we are looking forward to) and just enjoy time together! Time information will be shared as we get closer. We do ask that you allow those 55+ first opportunity to the indoor seating.

What time do the festivities end?

10 PM. We have to vacate the Rec Center by 10 pm due to the campground quiet time rules. Unfortunately we have no flexibility on this we are required to be out by 10.

Can our dog come?

Due to the congested space we would encourage you to leave your fuzzy family member(s) at the campsite. We understand for some of you this may mean taking turns watching your pup(s). We would love to have ALL the dogs there but space is limited.

What lodging is available?

We selected this date and venue knowing many family members already had campsites booked so they would not incur any additional expense. Should you not already have a site booked there are many hotels in the Mount Shasta area. Please see the travel section of this site for some suggestions. If you plan to attend in person we encourage you to book lodging soon. As a reminder we will also live stream the ceremony for those who were unable to attend in person.

Can I help make the magic happen?

If you know the bride & groom you know they prefer to offer help more than ask for help. However, being far away they understand it will take a village. For those of you who have asked how to help we’ve included some potential ways when you RSVP or you can just email TomLisa0228@gmail.com and they can forward the wedding google doc.😊

If I don’t come can I still celebrate with you at a later time?

Absolutely! We understand the location we chose may be difficult for many and we apologize for that. With that in mind we hope to live stream the ceremony and will likely be hosting a local reception for those unable to attend. SO if you’d like to celebrate with us post ceremony please email us at TomLisa0228@gmail.com and we will make sure to send you information when details are ironed out.

Who will be officiating the wedding?

We are blessed to have Rev. Christine officiating our ceremony. Christine and Lisa met through cub scouts and began camping together when the boys were in kindergarten. She, and her loving husband John, are like family to us! They quickly became Lisa’s rock - helping transport kids to summer camps, picking up from school and including us in holidays. She is truly like a sister and we are so thankful she is guiding us through this important milestone in our new life together.

Can we take pictures?

Please! We are looking for volunteers to formally take pictures but also appreciate you capturing candids as well. (Interested in helping play photographer - or play one on TV) please email TomLisa0228@gmail.com

Will there be photos taken after the ceremony.

Absolutely! When the ceremony concludes please stay to be captured in a group photo as well as a variety of family photos.

How do I share pictures with the bride & groom?

Great news! You can upload photos from now through July 31, 2026 by TEXTING 845-593-8045 During the reception please text photos to this number so we can all see them LIVE. All photos will also be collected into an album by utilizing this texting function. Thank you in advance for helping capture moments from our special day.

How do we RSVP?

There is a link on this site. You can add the family members coming with you at that time. All are welcome but again we understand distance may make attending a challenge and we hope to live stream for those unable to attend in person.
