Let's Talk Details

No Gifts!

Your presence at our wedding will be a gift in itself, so please do not buy us anything. The bride and groom have been known to notoriously live in the moment and can truly suck at taking pictures. We ask that you go through old/new photos and find the exceptional photos of us, either from when you knew us as single or of us together after we became a couple. They can be beautiful, funny, or truly awful... we want to use this wedding request to bolster decades of lack of photo taking. Either bring them to the wedding or, if you have digital files, please upload them to this shared Google Folder.

Are kids invited?

We absolutely encourage kids to experience Belize, so by all means, bring them along. They are welcome at almost everything. However, we'd like to have an adult-only wedding celebration. On the day of the wedding, we will have a kid-zone at the San Ignacio Resort Hotel with movies, snacks, and a babysitter. There will also be the option to hire a babysitter to stay in your hotel room with the kiddos. All babysitters are very reputable (literally the nieces of the hotel manager!) Message bride or groom for more info.

Can I bring a plus one?

Absolutely! You know we love a big party - if your invite says plus guest, please include them in your RSVP confirmation. If your invite does not say plus guest, and you would like to bring one, please shoot us a message and they're in!

Is there a dress code?

Since we will be in the heart of Belize, our theme is Jungle Chić. Think flowy & floral more than Tarzan & Jane. Also, know that the wedding day could be very hot and humid, so if your interpretation of Jungle Chić includes shorts and sandals, that's fine by us. Shit, wear a tank-top as long as it's brand new! We would be shocked if people don't jump in the pool by the end of the night...

What should I pack?

Belize in April is warm and humid, with the potential for rain, so be sure to pack accordingly. Although San Ignacio is in the jungle, most major hotels have pools, so don't forget a swimming suit. Also, bring a pair of walking shoes if you'd like to visit one of the many national parks, nature reserves, or nearby Mayan ruins. And of course, it's a jungle, so keep in mind that you might run into mosquitoes and other bugs. Finally, don't forget that passport!

What is there to do near San Ignacio?

Please see the "Activities & Tours" section on our website. for more details. There is plenty to do in the jungle. Anything from zip-lining to caving, horseback riding to river rafting, exploring Mayan ruins or wildlife sanctuaries. You might even want to pop over to Guatamala for a day! And of course, everyone is invited to follow us to the beach after the wedding, where we will partake in a whole new spectrum of adventure activities :)

What currency do they use in Belize? How much money should I bring?

Belize uses the Belizean dollar, and the conversion ratio is super easy to remember. USD 1:2 BZD. Meaning for every one US dollar, you will receive 2 Belizean dollars. Many smaller vendors may not accept credit card, so make sure to bring some cash for conversion. There are also plenty of ATMs where you can take out Belize Dollars.

What language do they speak in Belize?

English is the official language of Belize. Spanish and Creole are also commonly spoken.

What if I don't have a passport?

Well then get one! It's super easy and will last you 10 years. You can apply at https://www.usa.gov/apply-adult-passport Current processing times are 6-8 weeks.

But what if I want to Gamble?

You're in luck! There is a casino right next door to the San Ignacio Resort Hotel! Check out https://worldofprincess.com/ for more info.

If I have any other questions, who should I contact?

Between opening an new surgery center and planning a wedding, the bride and groom will be very busy leading up to the big day. If you have any questions regarding your travel plans, please contact the brides sisters: Kendall or Gabbi Simon.
