Growing up with a big sister was the biggest blessing I had growing up. Not only do I have a forever sister but a lifetime best friend with Emilie (not to mention always having a closet to steal clothes from). Emilie was the oldest child of us two girls and had to always set an example for me to want to follow (and sometimes not to follow ;) ). Emilie was always such a good sport about having her little sister always tag along and wanting to hang out with the "older cooler crowd"... Emilie wanted to try out for a play which made me want to try out for a play. Emilie joined Indian Princesses, therefore I had to join Indian Princesses (and be the youngest girl there). Emilie did choir in highschoool, so I wanted to do choir too....The list goes on and on. Our childhood memories are something I love to look back at and smile about. Through the years, we have been through ups and downs, but no matter where life took us, love was always there through the best and worst of times. I don’t know what I would do without Em as my sister! I’m so happy to have her standing next to Peter and I on our big day. Her support means the world to us! Love you to the moon and back sis!

Not many people can say that they have been friends with the same person ever since their days of recess, coloring for fun, and playing "pretend dogs". Rachel and I met when we were in 1st grade at Summit View Elementary School. One day we decided to play together at recess because Rachel liked my color pencil holder and I liked Rachel’s hair. Since day one, Rachel has been such a loyal friend, kind soul, and beautiful person inside and out to not only me but everyone around her. Even during college, we lived 4 hours away from each other, and our friendship never withered. Growing up with Rachel has contributed to so many of my best childhood memories and I am so happy and honored to have her standing next to me on the best day of my life at my wedding!

Bree and I met in high school and had a couple of classes together therefore we decided that we were good enough friends to become college roommates at UW-Whitewater. Turns out that was the BEST decision ever! College would have not been the same without Bree. Where there was a Val there was a Bree. We were always making the best of our time whether that be making stupid vines/videos, playing pranks on each other or other people, hitting the empty dance floor at Pumpers & Mitchells at 9:00 pm sharp, or just hanging out. After living with Bree for 4 years throughout college I couldn’t imagine my life without her. She is my partner in crime and weirdness. Bree and I have seen each other at our worst and best. We always know that we are there for each other whenever. I am so lucky to have such a great friend to stand next to me on my wedding day.

Emily and I met in high school and were never super close. We became friends via Bree at UW-Whitewater. Junior year at Whitewater Bree, Emily, and I all became roommates in Starin Hall. That's when Emily and I became really good friends. I'll never forget all the late nights, sleepovers in the living room, nerdy talk about chemistry, and great times we had together during college. I swear Emily has said “WTF Val” more times than I can count. I can't thank Emily enough for always putting up with my weirdness. I love my almost bday twin and I couldn’t be happier and honored to have my MeeSun partying with me on my wedding day! Thanks for not saying "WTF Val", to me asking you to be my bridesmaid! I'm so lucky to have a friend as real, nice, funny, and kind as Emily standing next to me on my big day!

Jackie is the youngest of the Henderson kids. I never met such a beautiful soul until I met Jackie. She’s so carefree and easy-going. Jackie was super kind and welcoming ever since the first day I met her when I came over to Doug & Julie's house for dinner. We were all playing UNO and having such a great time. Fun fact, Jackie and I both have master's degrees in public health! Jackie's always been the one to crack jokes and make everyone feel so welcome. She's really felt like my sister ever since day one. Peter's extremely lucky to have had such a fun sister while growing up but I am also so lucky to be gaining her as my sister now! I am honored and excited to have my new sister stand next to both me and her brother on our wedding day!

Summer is so sweet! We are both marrying into this wild Henderson family! Joe and Summer are getting married on September 30th, 2023 so it has been so much fun to share our progress while planning both of our weddings. There's nothing better than having a family event and killing a whole bottle of Kim Crawford with Summer! I’m so happy and honored to have my future sister-in-law standing next to Peter and I on our wedding day!

Besides being my oldest brother, Alec has always been the one to set the tone in our brotherhood. He’s the ringleader, the mentor, the problem solver, and—of course, we can’t forget—he’s the life of the party! Alec taught me how to live life to the fullest and cherish the time I have with the people I love. He also taught me how to launch a flaming wad of dog poop from a water balloon launcher. It’s safe to say that my life would not have been this amazing now if it weren’t for our childhood together. The memories we made over a decade ago will always remind me of how lucky I was to be able to look up to such a beautiful human. His goofiness, quirkiness, and cleverness are contagious to everyone blessed enough to be able to have him in their life. I couldn’t think of a better man to be standing alongside me as I take the plunge into married life. Sometimes friends come and go, but brothers are forever; I have a feeling like we’re still going to be deep in our shenanigans for the rest of our lives, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

There’s only a select handful of people who are able to find happiness in every single thing life throws at them, and I was blessed enough to call one of those people my older brother. Joe has always had a shining aura around his personality, and I’ve always admired his ability to smile through the hardest times. His perseverance and can-do attitude were immensely influential throughout our lives together. He taught me to dedicate myself to the things I love and to never tell myself that I couldn’t do anything. On top of that, he’s always been there to steer me in the right direction when I begin to fall off track. And as far as my memories go, he’s always been the most dependable and trustworthy brother a man can have. I like to think of Joe as the angel on my shoulder whom I can confide in and share the most sacred moments of my life with. With that being said, there’s no better honor than standing next to this wonderful man on my wedding day. I’m forever grateful for the person he is, and I hope he never changes.

Augie and I became really good friends when we spontaneously decided to ditch our random roommate assignments to live together during our freshman year at UW-Whitewater. That decision ended up being one of the best decisions of my young adult life. Everyone deserves a friend like Augie. He’s the one friend that can make you laugh, cry, and poop your pants all at the same time. We ended up living together all four years at college and made thousands of memories together as we both carved our way through life. His hardworking attitude helped keep me on track. His humor made me smile when times got tough. His trust made way for one of the most beautiful friendships a man could ask for. I am honored to stand next to him on my wedding day.

The “big sexy” Knoke has been one of my best friends throughout all my years. From middle school through college, and to this day he’s been there for me through everything. I like to think of the Knoke family as my second family, and Nick is like a brother to me. We’ve shared so many laughs, smiles, tears, and experiences together, and the memories we’ve made will last a lifetime. There’s nothing about me that nick doesn’t know because we share a bond that very few friends ever hope to achieve. Our friendship is full of inside jokes that’ll just never get old. It doesn’t matter if we don’t see each other for months, because whenever we get together we pick right back up where we left off. I look forward to a future where Nick is in my life, and I am excited to have him by my side on one of the most important days of my life.

As the “cooler” brother of the Knoke family, Brandon has always been mischievous and energetic, never failing to make me laugh my ass off. He is—without a doubt—one of my best friends and I am beyond lucky to have him in my life. While we grew apart in college, that never impacted our friendship. He’s always been there for me when I needed him, and he’s never failed to brighten up my life. Brandon is creative, cunning, and most certainly a goofball that I couldn’t imagine my life without. My friendship with Brandon is deeper than most friendships, as we’ve been through the wringer together. I can’t imagine a more deserving person to earn my respect and am blessed to be able to have him stand up next to me on my wedding day.

Truth be told, Brennan is one of the strongest men in our friend group. His encouragement and praise are one of the things that motivate me to improve myself each and every day. He’s quick to make a joke, yet always seems to be able to know when you need a hug. Brennan is goofy, loving, and an absolute pleasure to be around. While sometimes clumsy, he never stays on the ground for long. You can knock him down, but he’ll always stand back up tougher than before. I’ll never forget all the laughs we’ve shared, all the times we’ve bonded, and all the brotherly love he’s given to me. For that, I am honored to have him as a groomsman at my wedding.

Matt is another friend that I grew much closer to in college. He’s always been “the responsible one” who our entire friend group depends on to keep everyone in line. He’s the voice of reason, and can mediate the heck out of an argument. He is one of the most intelligent and humble people I know. On top of all that, he’s also very spontaneous and energetic. It’s never been a dull moment when Matt is in the room. That energy has rubbed off onto me, and I’m grateful to have him in my life. Every friend group needs a little adventure, and Matt never fails to lead our crew to great experiences. He has been a staple of our friend group, and I look forward to standing alongside him at my wedding.

Conner is the type of friend that will go out of his way to protect you, even if it means sacrificing his own pleasure and joy. He’s the type of friend that you can call at 3 AM when you’re desperate and need someone to get you home safely. He’s also the type of friend that you can call at 3 AM when you want to party! He is the most reliable friend anyone could ever ask for. Whether you need a hug, a laugh, or someone to slap you silly, he’s your one-stop shop. Having Conners' friendship is like having another brother. Life could take us a million miles away from each other, yet still, we’d find a way to care for one another, and that is why our friendship is unique. I cannot wait to have him stand by my side for one the most intimate moments of my life.

Gavin is married to Val's cousin, Ali. Gavin and Ali live in Littleton, Colorado. We are so honored to have Gavin marry us because he and Ali have been such solid role models to us for not only being a married couple but also being amazing parents to their three girls, Presley, Aria, and Quinn. Gavin and Ali's house was one of our stops on our proposal road trip and Peter made sure to get all the advice he could from Gavin. It means so much to have him be a part of our day for his big officiant debut!

Aria is the middle Berry child (Gavin and Ali's daughter). Aria is 9 years old. Aria is so sweet and being a flower girl is so fittinng for her. We are so honored to have her be our flower girl!

Kyle is Val's cousin's son (Kelsey and Kyle Kierzek). Kyle is 3.5 years old and said yes to being a ring bearer as long as he can shake his booty at the dance party! We are so happy to have little Kyle be a part of our day!

Seamus is Jackie Henderson's fiance! We love Jackie and Seamus's love, it is so sweet and they are so perfect for each other. Seamus is a part of the band "Sleeping Jesus" which you should most definitely check out! We are so honored to have him be a part of our day.

Presley is the oldest of the three Berry girls (Gavin and Ali's daughter). She is going to be 13 years old in September and is taller than Val! Presley is such a beautiful young lady and we are so honored to have her be a part of our day.

Quinn is the youngest of the three Berry girls (Gavin and Ali's daughter). Quinn just turned 7 in August. Quinn is a little ball of energy and we are so excited to have her be a part of our wedding day!
