Our Story

We met at a house party in Montréal 6 years ago, almost to the exact day of our wedding. We had a very strong connection from our first conversation and went on a date in Montréal the very next night. A week later, Jonathan was already flying back to Montréal to visit Virginie. The next weekend, Virginie was in Boston for Jonathan's 24th birthday. We spent the next 3 years visiting each other whenever we could and building an amazing relationship while traveling around the world together. We unofficially moved in together for a temporary lease in 2020 and got to spend many months together throughout the pandemic. Jonathan proposed on an absolutely spectacular and sunny day on&nbsp;August 7, 2021&nbsp;joined with family and friends in Boston. The following week, we moved to Austin where we bought our first home, adopted our first kitten, and started two businesses; a pediatric speech therapy practice and a venture capital firm. We have selected Virginie's hometown city of Montréal for our special weekend. We are delighted for you to join the festivities!Please RSVP before&nbsp;May 30th 2023.

To make the weekend as simple as possible for our guests, all events and accommodations will be held in downtown Montréal within a short walk from each other. Montréal in the summer is a beautiful city to experience, we encourage all guests to leave some free time to explore! We chose Montréal for it's House Music scene, vibrant mixologist culture, and where you will be greeted with a friendly Bonjour!

We would love to gather and say goodbye to our guests before you leave Montréal and we depart for our Honeymoon as the new Mr. and Mrs. Lacoste.

For guests flying to Montréal, we recommend you use Montréal’s main airport - Montréal Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport (YUL) Please remember to check if your passport needs to be renewed! (Looking at you, Garrett) GETTING FROM THE AIRPORT TO DOWNTOWN MONTREALWe recommend grabbing a taxi or Uber from the airport to your accommodations. It is typically a 20-25 minute drive into downtown. We do not recommend renting a car for the weekend since all venues are within close proximity of one another. Shuttle city buses to metro stations are available as well.

The closest Subway Station for Saturday is Station Bonaventure on the orange line. It is 3 min walk away from the Cathédrale Marie-Reine-du-Monde. The metro is a convenient way to get around in Montréal since construction and traffic can be very unpredictable. A one-way ticket is 3,50$ CAD and a 2-way ticket is 6,50$ CAD. Tickets are sold at any station or paid cash (for a single ticket with the exact amount) onboard any bus. The metro system is called STM (Société des transports de Montréal).

This is a classic in Montreal, guests can walk around the Old Port of Montréal. There's so much happening in the summer, so many restaurants, shops and beautiful architecture. Near the water, there's the Grande Roue (Ferris Wheel) which offers a beautiful view of Montréal.&nbsp;

Visiting the viewpoint on top of Mount Royal, the mountain Montreal derives its name from, is one of the most popular free activities in the city. To get to the top lookout point, you can Uber to the Smith House parking lot and walk five minutes up the path to the Mount Royal Chalet and Kondiaronk Belvedere. The longer hike is also an amazing option :The Mont Royal belvedere lookout HIKE/WALK begins at Peel Metro station on the Green line and takes you on a 2 kilometer (one-way) walk and climb up to the Belvédère Kondiaronk viewpoint where you will see a spectacular view of downtown Montreal.

Montreal bagels are famous and delicious! Authentic Montreal bagels are boiled in water with honey, and as a result are sweeter than their New York counterparts. But the bigger difference is that&nbsp;they are cooked in wood-fired ovens, which gives them a crunchier crust and a deeper, richer crust flavor.

Jonathan proposed on an absolutely spectacular and sunny day on August 7th 2021 joined with family and friends in Boston. Soon after, we moved to Austin in August 2021, where we bought our first home, adopted our first kitten, started a VC firm and opened a pediatric private practice.
