We’re inspired by the watercolor works of Tove Jansson, the beautiful SunHawk Farm venue, and the various blues, greens, and golds of the wild landscapes which have nourished us throughout our lives. We’d love to invite you to participate in our theme and color palette however you wish!

Tove Jansson

<a href="https://tovejansson.com/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Tove Jansson</a> (pronounced Toe-vay Yawn-sun) was a queer artist whose all-ages <a href="https://www.moomin.com/en/history/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Moomin</a> stories have inspired countless feelers of feelings and lovers of love through her comics, paintings, short stories, interactive exhibits, novels, animations, plays, and pop-up books! An antifascist anarcha-feminist, Jansson’s work is both private and political, steeped in indigenous Finnish nature worship. Her voice is joyful and silly, fierce and rebellious, much like us. We hope you will join us in bringing Moomin Valley to life for our wedding!

We're privileged to be able to host a very small number of previously-arranged guests camping overnight on Saturday or Sunday at the Sunhawk Farm venue (details below). Unfortunately we're at that limit already and additional camping on-site is not available. Situated on the unceded land of the Pomo Tribe, <a href="https://sunhawkfarms.com" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">SunHawk Farm</a> is a small family-owned biodynamic farm and homestead overlooking the lush Hopland valley in Mendocino County, California. SunHawk Farm was built as a model of sustainability and regenerative practices; surrounded by untamed forests, lush with fresh spring water, and held in the abundance of a biodynamic farm, the natural beauty of SunHawk offers the perfect landscape for celebration. Please help us show our appreciation for our hosts by following their guidelines for the property. All guests must drive slowly (10mph maximum) by the houses on the road leading to the venue. The entire event will need to be packed out and everybody gone before 10am Monday morning. The umbrellas on the dock will fly into the pond in windy conditions and can be damaged: keep umbrellas rolled down at night and if the wind picks up. Venue is off-the-grid powered by solar: conserve energy by closing the hot tub cover whenever hot tub is not in use. Clean up as you go, and leave as best you can, being good stewards of the property.&nbsp; On departure:&nbsp;Place dirty sheets, pillowcases, and dry used towels in the provided laundry bag, and leave at the front of SunHawk main house, alongside house near driveway. Ensure Glamping Tents are zipped up. Ensure all lights are turned off. Ensure no items are left on the island on the lake. Ensure all doors and windows are closed. Return floaties/SUP/boats and pond toys to outdoor bathroom area. Return any mattresses on the lawn to the outdoor bathroom porch.

Named “a sacred site” by National Geographic, the City’s 700 acres of meadows and woodlands are home to countless critters big and small, as well as a Buddhist monastery, boys’ and girls’ K-12 schools, and an organic farm. The largest Buddhist monastery in Northern California, it also houses the Jyun Kang Vegetarian Restaurant, possibly the best-kept culinary secret in the area.

It’s a safe bet this is the only place to get an Ostrich burger in Hopland, and a reliable spot for more traditional greasy-spoon fare as well. A cornerstone of the area for decades.
