Our Wedding

Gavin and Abby met at the Dakota County Fair in the summer of 2018. They were both there with their friend groups and hadn't really talked, but knew there may be something there! They hung out for the first time in April 2019 with some mutual friends, their sophomore year of high school. They started dating in their junior year on November 10th, 2019, and have been together ever since. They did long distance for 4 years throughout college as Gavin attended Arizona State and Abby attended the University of Minnesota sophmore through senior year, and University of Iowa her freshman year. Between beating the odds of long-distance couples in college, as well as being high school sweethearts, they have made it through, and now we celebrate their special day! Gavin proposed on May 13th, 2025, and Abby was SO surprised. Gavin was graduating from ASU the next day, and she was under the impression that she was only there for Gavin’s graduation. Abby thought Gavin was golfing late, and we were waiting for him for dinner. We were walking through the Desert Botanical Gardens, and Abby was still clueless as to what was about to happen. Once we got to an overlook, Abby noticed Gavin was standing there. She turned around to let Gavin's family know that we found him, and saw they had their phones out, ready to record!! The best surprise ever! They then headed to Ruth's Chris Steak House for dinner with their families!Gavin and Abby now live together in a townhome in Rosemount. Gavin is working as a Financial Advisor at Thrivent, and Abby is working as a Clinic Assistant at MNGI.Next steps for them include Abby graduating from nursing school in December of 2027. Their future also involves lots of traveling together!!

Our Story

I think my favorite memory is our month long road trip to Florida in Nov/Dec 2020. We had to wear masks everywhere, but still managed to hit Disney Springs, Magic Kingdom, a Buccaneers vs Vikings game, and sailing. All while doing online school during the school days! It was our senior year of high school, and a fun way to test if we could travel together (we can)!

Gavin's Favorite Memory

One of my favorite memories is when Gavin and his family surprised me at the University of Iowa for the Iowa vs. Minnesota football game. It was our freshman year of college—the beginning of our long-distance journey and arguably one of the most challenging times in our relationship. We hadn’t seen each other in four months, and I had no idea he was coming.

Please wear cocktail attire!To us, cocktail means no sweats, jeans, or leggings. But also no ballgowns or tuxedos necessary! Of course, no whites, creams, or ivories as well.Examples for men: Khaki pants/joggers, button up's, slacks, etc.Examples for women: Dresses, skirts, jumpsuit, romper, etc.

Gavin and Abby will be staying here!For this hotel, a shuttle service will be available; times are to be determined at the moment. The venue informed us that there are no Ubers or Lyfts available in the area, so transportation to and from the hotel (if not using the shuttle) is your responsibility. PLEASE drive safely, and if you need a ride from someone, ASK! If you do stay at this hotel, we recommend asking for an early check in! The standard check in time is 3-4pm (depending on the day), you can ask for them to allow you to check in as early as 11am! The room block for this hotel is now closed, if you still want to stay you are more than welcome, but we cannot guarantee a spot on the shuttle for you at this time!
