Will there be an American wedding?

Yes, we will also be hosting a very casual celebration in the US. We are still hammering out the details of what that will look like, where it will be, and when it will be (but we are thinking sometime in 2026). All guests are invited to attend both our Indian and our American celebration. We would love to celebrate out union with you in two totally different styles. Having said that, we completely understand that many people do not have the flexibility to attend both celebrations. We will contact you when we have more information on our American celebration.

What vaccines do I need?

We are not sure *which* vaccines you need, but we do know that you need them. Schedule an appointment with your doctor ASAP. You have to get shot up 4-6 weeks before traveling and wait times are crazy.

Registry?

We do not expect (or want) any gifts from people traveling large distances. Your presence if already the best present possible :)

Getting from our hotel to the wedding venue

Your best bet is going to be Uber.

Safety In India

We recommend that guests always travel in groups or pairs.

Will my phone work in India?

You've got two options: 1) Talk to your phone company about an international pay-by-the-day. For Verizon, it's $12/day. This is the simpler, but more expensive way to handle the situation. 2) Buy an Indian SIM card at the exit of the airport. This should cost you about XX. We recommend communicating with WhatsApp because you can communicate using your American number even if you have switched to an Indian SIM.

What is #AmandarShubhoDin?

This is our wedding hashtag. This is a hot trend in India right now. If guests use the hashtag when posting on social media, other users can search for all Instagram posts related to our wedding, even if you do not follow the poster. AmandarShubhoDin roughly translates to "Amanda's auspicious day" in a punny way. "Shubho" means auspicious and "Din" means day in Bengali.

Please let us know if you have any other questions or if there are things that we can help with. We would love to help with planning, logistics, etc. BUT, this offer turns back into a pumpkin on Dec 19th, 2025.
