Anna + Connor

Our Beginning

In November of 2020, Anna was home from her first semester of college, which was boring due to Covid. Her mom had her download Tinder (a dating app) "just to see what was out there." Little did Anna know, she would meet the man she is marrying on this crazy app. On December 8th, 2020, Connor and Anna "matched" and the rest is history. Tinder is known for corny pick up lines, and Anna would like to embarrass Connor by quoting his pickup line. "I'd take u to the movies but I don't think they let snacks like u in." Anna thought the pickup line was so bad that it was funny, so she responded. She did not want to go on a date...at all. She was in a season of life where she wanted more than anything to stay single. However, when they kept talking more and more over Snapchat, she started to have second thoughts about that plan. Anna only called Connor "Pilot Boy" for the weeks leading up to our first date because she was in denial of anything working out. On December 26, 2020, Connor picked her up for their first date, which Anna's mom did in fact pay her to go on... guess moms are always right ;) Anna and Connor walked around a local Christmas light experience and then got gelato. Anna texted her mom from the date "I hate that he's nice" because she knew after talking all night that he was someone special. Connor asked Anna to be his girlfriend on January 14, 2021 after going on numerous dates throughout their college winter breaks. They had to go right into long distance dating when Connor returned to Florida for his final semester of undergrad, but it wasn't long before Anna was hopping on a plane at least once a month to visit. They knew very early on that they were serious about each other and that they did not want to date if they were not dating to marry. We value the small things more, see the world in a much broader perspective, and most importantly our faith is the strongest it has ever been since meeting. As of August 2024, they have traveled to 9 different countries and countless other places together and plan to continue to explore the world together...forever!

The Proposal

Connor proposed to me on a trip to Daytona Beach, Florida. We had planned to go down to Daytona to visit some of Connor's college friends and to go to the Daytona 500, which is where we spent out first Valentine's Day! We were both overjoyed to be going back to the place that holds our earliest memories together. Our first Valentine's together, we went out to Hyde Park Premium Steakhouse (he knows me well), and the night before he proposed we went back to that same restaurant for what turned out to be our last meal as boyfriend-girlfriend. Connor told me that we had brunch plans before the Daytona 500 started and let me just tell you I was EXCITED for brunch food. We decided to go to Ponce Inlet Lighthouse for sunrise "before brunch" and as we walked down to the beach I spotted a drone in the sky and got a little confused. We kept walking and had the entire beach to ourselves, besides the drone and photographer haha. Connor told me everything on his heart, cried, and then got down on one knee. We were both crying, but also laughing which perfectly sums up our dynamic. Following the proposal, we had over an hour long photoshoot to show off my STUNNING ring. We Facetimed our people, most of whom were not awake yet (sorry to those we woke up!), and then we went to Bucee's because there wasn't actually a brunch reservation, but Bucee's is even better and the photo below of my ring at Bucee's is one of my favorites!
