Where do I begin? (the beginning of course...)

Arielle & I met in late 2013 when I decided to drop out of my college (sorry Mom & Dad!) to pursue a career in the music industry and move to LA. Luckily for me, Arielle had similar plans as she was unhappy with her current path of becoming a dance major. If you've seen her have more than 2 drinks you have seen her...skills.

Unsure and a little afraid, we both enrolled at Musicians Institute's 'Music Business' program (hell yea brother) in the fall of 2013 where IT ALL BEGAN. It didn't take me long to notice Arielle with her bright blue eyes, bangs, and style. An almost caricature of the 'indie girl era' - reminiscent of a Zooey Deschanel but with the temperament of a honey badger (cute but gouge your eyes out if crossed). I remember sitting behind her in class one day and thinking (á la Wayne's World) "She will be mine, oh yes...she will be mine".

Arielle was clearly obsessed with me from the beginning as she would let me copy her homework and laugh at all my jokes. I'm funny but not THAT funny. She also said I smelled good (despite having the potent Czech gene) and had nice hands - specifically my fingernails - which is something I would assume Hannibal Lector or Buffalo Bill would also say.

Time went by in a cat & mouse sort of way (I was the mouse) where should would show interest but she ALSO had a boyfriend (sorry bro!). Very confusing for a 21 year old. Our first 'date' was actually her setting me up with one of her friends who looking back couldn't be further from what I would be interested in - cupid was clearly out of office. I'm talking blonde, spoiled, didn't know who the Misfits were, didn't laugh at my jokes (BLASPHEMY!) and blonde (again). We went to go see Rodriquez play (Patti Smith opened!) and I ended up almost exclusively talking to Arielle. She was so much more interesting, driven, and most importantly not blonde. We ended up at a hookah bar somehow and left saying "we should do this again!".

Arielle ended up graduating early from the Music Business program in early 2014 as she got a job at The Agency Group working as an agents assistant (Ariel Pink, Stromae, Rodriquez, Brian Wilson, Yelle, etc). As you would assume, part of the job is going to a ton of shows and (she claims) I was always down to go! I was young, loved live music, broke, and thought she was hot - so safe to say we went to a lot of shows together.

We were 'unexclusively exclusive' for about 6 months (way too long if you ask Arielle) and eventually in early 2015 we made that shit official. There was no exact day we started dating but we chose January 12th as our "anniversary" because thats when Zeppelin 1 came out. We're so lame.

Fast forward through ups and downs, the adoption of Lilith & Xena, the meteoric rise of The Pretty Cult, me cutting my hair , a global pandemic, Barbenheimer, and much much more - your boy decided to put a ring on it. I proposed at a castle fit for an ice queen and never looked back. Our relationship has brought us all over the world so why not celebrate somewhere crazy with the people we love most.

I'm sure I missed a few things but thats for my memoir. Excited to add another chapter to our story with all of you.
