Most of the main sights will be covered on Thursday during our 'Zoo Tour' but below are some suggestions on things to not miss during your visit to Prague!
Old Town Square - Cultural center of Prague. Here is where the Týn Church & Astronomical Clock are located. Lots of restaurants, coffee, & most importantly our wedding venue.
St. Vitus Cathedral ($) - The most iconic building in Prague! Located within the Prague Castle grounds it's a 14th century gothic cathedral that overlooks the entire city. It's a must see in Prague. Costs a small fee to get inside - well worth it!
Gardens Below Prague Castle ($) - This last trip was my first time here and it's actually where we took our engagement photos. Beautiful architecture and views of the of the city - well worth it if you want to take some cool photos. Not sure how it will look in the winter but worth the $4-5 to get in.
Charles Bridge - The 2nd most iconic site in Prague (seen in Mission Impossible & XXX)! Finished in the 15th century Charles Bridge is a medieval stone arch bridge that crosses the Vltava river in Prague. Can get quite hectic in peak hours but worth the stroll across to see the statues, vendors, and views of the city.
Church Of Our Lady Before Týn - The only church close to as picturesque as St. Vitus. The cathedral serves as an extensive gallery of Gothic, Renaissance and Early Baroque works, and the organ inside, dating from 1673, is the oldest in Prague. Right next to our wedding venue in Old Town so you literally HAVE TO see it. Also they hold mass here on Sundays so if you're into that you should check it out!
Mala Strana - Czech for "Little Side (of the river)" the part of the city is located on the west bank of the river and underneath the slopes of Prague Castle. This district is known for its narrow picturesque streets dominated by Baroque buildings. Well worth the stroll - feels VERY Prague.
St. Nicholas Church - A Baroque style church located in Mala Strana. It has been described as the greatest example of Prague Baroque (whatever that means!). Located in the Mala Strana district so if you're there it's definitely worth a look.
Astronomical Clock - Located in Old Town Square and built in 1410, it is the third-oldest astronomical clock in the world and the oldest clock still in operation. Tourists will line up at the hour to hear the clock strike. It's cool to see once but good luck getting a nice photo in front of it.
Vyšerhad - Vyšehrad is a residential district centered on its namesake medieval fortress, a popular sunset vantage point with hilltop views over the city and Prague Castle. The fortress includes the neo-Gothic St. Peter and St. Paul Basilica, featuring elaborate frescoes and mosaics. There is also a cool cemetery there where famous composer Dvorak is buried. About a 10 minute Uber from Old Town but worth it if you have a few hours to kill.
Wenceslas Square - Wenceslas Square (Named after Wenceslas I, Duke of Bohemia - patron saint of the Czech state) is one of the main city squares and the centre of the business and cultural communities in the New Town of Prague. Many historical events occurred there, and it is a traditional setting for demonstrations, celebrations, and other public gatherings...there is also a small Pokemon shop and maybe 3 Starbuck's there.
Infinity Book Tower - Located at the entrance of the Municipal Library is the Infinity Book Tower. It is constructed with over 8,000 books and has mirrors at both the top and bottom to give the 'infinity effect'. Theres usually a line to take photos of it, but it's worth it for the gram!
