How do I get there?

CDG Airport

We recommend flying into CDG airport.

Feel free to spend a day or two in Paris exploring before making your way to the venue. The venue is in the northern French countryside. The route to the venue is beautiful but can be extra exhausting after a long flight from the US.

The general route will be Paris -> Rouen -> Boissey-le-Châtel

If you arrive early, there are a number of luggage storage companies to store your luggage while you wait for check in. You can also check with your hotel.

Booking a Shuttle with driver

We recommend coordinating with other guests traveling from your same airport to arrive on a similar day/time and splitting the cost of a sprinter van with a driver. There are options starting at 7 people for $450 total at https://www.mydriverparis.com/

Renting a shuttle once you're in Rouen is also a possibility. This can be a great option if you are staying in Rouen and want to arrange a way to safely travel to and from after the reception.

A shuttle from Paris would get you to the area faster and you wouldn't have to worry about physically driving a rental car or paying for a taxi after the train ride to Rouen.

We will include a checkbox on the RSVP for sharing contact info with others traveling from the same city

Renting a car

For a familiar way to travel:

You can rent a car from the Charles de Gualle airport through Enterprise for roughly $74/day https://www.enterprise.com/en/home.html

Or you can rent a car from Rouen. We recommend using SIXT for roughly $60/day. (Avis was unreliable in Rouen when we tried to use their service in July 2023 but maybe it will be better when it's not peak season) https://www.sixt.com/

From Paris this method will take you 1h 45m from the airport directly to the Venue via main roads. From Rouen it took us just under 40min.

Taking the train

If you don't want to worry about driving, by train is a better option.

FROM THE AIRPORT

1. From the airport take the train to the Saint-Lazare station

2. From the Saint-Lazare station take the train to Gare de Rouen. Rouen is the closest town to the venue. This method will take you 2h and cost less than $10. Step by step directions are accurate on Google/Apple maps.

FROM CENTRAL PARIS

1. If you're already in central Paris, go to the Saint-Lazare station and take the TER train to Gare de Rouen. This method will take you 1h 30m and cost less than $10. Step by step directions are accurate on Google/Apple maps

(more information is on the "our trip to Normandy" tab)

Once you're in Rouen there are a few options to get to the venue:

1. Take the train from Rouen Rive Droite to Grand Bourgtheroulde then taxi to the venue (10min drive ~$25) the station is a couple miles outside of the main town, you’ll have to arrange pickup. (this might not be the most reliable option)

2. Take a taxi directly from the train station (45m drive ~$60 - you can arrange for this early)

3. Uber exists in France, you can uber from the Rouen train station to the venue for less than $70

Carpooling would be a good option at this point of the trip
