LaDonna has been Logan's best friend since 7th grade... that's 10+ years of friendship. We've gone from best friends in middle/high school to best friends and roommates living in a new city, and now best friends growing into our adult selves. It's not common to have a friend who has seen you in all your previous life phases, but if you can make it out of middle school together, you can make it through anything. LaDonna is someone who we know will be in our lives for many years to come. Aside from Austin, LaDonna is my soulmate. My love for her is immeasurable.
As long as we're best friends, it will always be a party for two... and yes, you will hear us karaoke this song at the rehearsal dinner after party.
Haylie Beaumont - Groomsmaid
Haylie is one of Logan's most recent but dearest friends. We started out as coworkers and quickly realized how alike our personalities were - some might say we are too alike...and those people would be correct! Haylie, like me, is your resident unpaid comedian and jokester - it seems our soul purpose in life is entertain our friends. We've laughed so hard we've cried too many times to count and that has created a solid foundation for a lifelong friendship. Haylie is the most social and outgoing person I know, so before the trip is over, be sure to talk to her, and I'm sure she will learn every detail about you.
Kenzie Pollard - Groomsmaid
Kenzie is Logan's older sister. Older siblings are often our first friends, playmate, fight club opponent (haha it's true and you know it), but also our first protectors. My sister is strong willed, protective of her family, and someone who is always around to remind me that things will all work out in the end.
Thankfully, as siblings, our relationship is like wine - better with age. I know that Kenzie will always be in my corner, and I'd like to think she knows that I'll always be in hers.
Sara Turpen - Groomsmaid
Sara is one of Logan's previous roommates turned best friend. It was a bond that formed quickly and before we knew what was happening, we were already spending most of our spare time together - taking shots of peppermint schnapps, having food fights, hosting pools parties in the front lawn, and singing karaoke every Friday night at the Bally. It is without fail, that every time I see Sara my day gets better. She's also the biggest Swiftie I know, and that counts for a lot in my book. Did I mention she is a knot tying aficionado?
If you want to meet her, she'll be easy to spot - just look for the girl playing the kazoo on the dance floor.
Sophia Rose - Flower Girl
Sophia is Logan's niece (Kenzie's daughter) and has brought some much needed joy and laughter to our family's life. She'll be the cutest one walking down the aisle on September 1st.
Austin's Wedding Party
Dillon Shaffer - Best Man
Dillon and I have known each other since he walked into the Beta Sig house (can we really call it that at that point?) at Indiana University one evening in 2013. Even though we were a few years apart in school, we became fast friends.
- 10+ years, many (many) glasses of bourbon, lots of borrowed tools, good memories and hard times later that's still the case. Dillon has been there with me through it all, and I couldn't ask for a better friend, or a better Best Man.
Alec Rader - Groomsman
Anyone who has a brother close in age understands - growing up they are simultaneously one of your best friends and also your mortal enemy. But as you get older, you realize they are really just the former and sincerely begin to appreciate everything they've done for you - teach you to be a better person, support you when times are hard, and celebrate with you when times are good. Alec has been there for me through it all. Which is why I couldn't imagine not having him stand with me on my wedding day.
Nick Banister - Groomsman
Nick will always be a part of my life, and not just because he's one of the friends who I want to have stand by me at my wedding or the fact that I was in his - I also have a scar from crashing a Lime scooter at his bachelor party. Jokes aside (or not), Nick is one of my favorite people - honest, kind, trustworthy and funny especially when he gets a few drinks in him. Hopefully we can convince him to stay out past his bedtime for the reception.
Clinton Small - Groomsman
Like everyone in my wedding party except for my brother Alec, I met Clinton at Indiana University as one of my Beta Sig brothers. Not only have we been close friends since then with lots of fun memories - including riding the Showalter Fountain at IU, and having the privilege to stand with him at his wedding - we worked closely together (for a number of years) to create a better housing situation for the fraternity. I think he's one of the few friends of mine who truly know what it's like to work with me, and I'm happy to say that our friendship survived that experience.
Jackson Fessenden - Groomsman
Anybody that knows Jackson can attest to the fact that he's one of the kindest people they've met. What a lot of people may not know is that also one of the most adventurous, go with the flow people as well. I think that combination is one of the reasons we first became friends and have stayed friends since we met at IU - he was nice enough AND adventurous enough to go along with some of the crazy ideas I've had over the years, including buying a flight to another continent (on a whim) to go climb the tallest freestanding mountain in the world. Which is why I wanted him to be a part of another one of my life's most important adventures, and hope we have many more together to come.
