Location: The Summit Bechtel Reserve

“South Gate Access”

To ensure smooth navigation, please direct your team to use the following directions to enter through the

South Gate, which is much closer to the hotel/conference center. The Summit Bechtel Reserve does not

have recognizable addresses other than the North Gate entrance.

Navigation via Google Maps

We strongly encourage you to use the “Google Maps” application on your smartphone. In our experience,

this is the only application that will accurately guide drivers to the South Gate Entrance and directly to the

Yamagata Hall & Lodge or Fenneman Great Hall & Lodge.

1. Download the “Google Maps” app from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store.

2. Navigate to the “Summit Bechtel Reserve South Entrance” by typing the name exactly as

quoted or by clicking on this link: South Entrance on Google Maps.

o Once you arrive, you will see a large sign that says “Summit Bechtel Reserve.”

o Turn onto Jack Furst Drive and drive for approximately 3 miles until you reach the South

Gate.

3. Gate Access:

o When you arrive at the gate, press the call button for entry and mention the reason for

your visit. They will be expecting your guests. (The North Gate has 24/7 coverage and

answers all calls from the South Gate.)

4. Navigate to one of the locations below using the Google Maps app by typing the name exactly

as quoted or by clicking on the appropriate link:

o Yamagata Hall & Lodge

o Fenneman Great Hall & Lodge

Written Directions:

From Beckley Area (Eisenhower Drive):

 Take Route 19 North to the Glen Jean Exit.

 Turn right onto Route WV-16S/WV-61S (Legends Highway) and go 2.7 miles.

 Turn left onto Route WV-61 (Mill Creek Road) and go 1.9 miles.

 Turn left at the Summit Bechtel Reserve sign onto Garden Ground Road (also known as Jack

Furst Drive).

 After 3 miles, enter the Summit Bechtel Reserve South Gate and follow the signs.

From Beckley Area (Stanaford Road - Woodrow Wilson High School):

 Head northeast on Stanaford Road/WV-41 for 4.2 miles.

 Continue straight to stay on State Highway 61/WV-61 for 2.6 miles (do NOT head toward Prince).

 Turn right at the Summit Bechtel Reserve sign onto Garden Ground Road (also known as Jack

Furst Drive).

 After 3 miles, enter the Summit Bechtel Reserve South Gate and follow the signs.

From Bradley Area:

 Take Route WV-16 North at Bradley and go 2.2 miles.

 Turn right onto Route WV-61S (Mill Creek Road) and go 1.9 miles.

 Turn left at the Summit Bechtel Reserve sign onto Garden Ground Road (also known as Jack

Furst Drive).

 After 3 miles, enter the Summit Bechtel Reserve South Gate and follow the signs.

On Property - Directions to the Yamagata Hall & Lodge:

 Make the first left.

 Drive to the first stop sign, then continue straight (slightly to the right) until you reach the hotel.

 Total trip time: approximately 7 minutes.

On Property - Directions to the Fenneman Great Hall & Lodge:

 Make the first left.

 Drive to the first stop sign, then turn left and drive approximately 2 miles until you reach Perry

Park.

 Turn right onto the road to arrive at Fenneman Great Hall & Lodge.

 Total trip time: approximately 14 minutes.

Other Important Information:

 Gate Access:

o When you get to the gate, press the call button and tell them why you’re there. They are

expecting you. The North Gate is open all the time and will help with calls from the South

Gate.
