Late September is peak foliage season in Steamboat Springs. Take a scenic drive or hike to enjoy the vibrant autumn colors!

Recommended Spots: Buffalo Pass: A 4x4 road that takes visitors to high-altitude vistas with great views of the changing leaves.

Zirkle Wilderness Area: Offers hiking trails with fantastic fall foliage and a great place for a picnic.


2. Hiking & Biking

Steamboat Springs has an extensive network of trails that are great for hiking and mountain biking.

Fish Creek Falls: . *** Highly recommend*** A short hike (about 1.5 miles round-trip) to a beautiful waterfall. Ideal for guests who want an easy, scenic experience

Spring Creek Trail: A longer, more challenging trail with panoramic views of the Yampa Valley.

Routt National Forest: Plenty of trails suitable for hiking or biking, with the added benefit of gorgeous fall colors.

Mountain Biking at Steamboat Resort: Even without snow, the resort offers mountain biking trails with varying difficulty levels.


3. Hot Springs

Old Town Hot Springs – Relax in natural, geothermal hot springs in the heart of Steamboat. They offer both indoor and outdoor pools, perfect for unwinding. They also have a wonderful gym for those looking for a workout.

Strawberry Park Hot Springs – ***Highly recommend*** A more secluded, rustic experience located about 20 minutes from town, where guests can soak in outdoor hot springs surrounded by nature. You do need a reservation for this and they only accept cash!


5. Steamboat Springs Downtown & Yampa River Walk

Explore downtown Steamboat Springs with its unique boutiques, art galleries, and delicious restaurants.

Yampa River Walk: A beautiful, easy walk along the Yampa River with scenic views and wildlife.

Steamboat Art Museum: If your guests enjoy art, this museum features a variety of local and regional artwork.

Local Breweries & Distilleries: Steamboat is home to several craft breweries and distilleries, such as Storm Peak Brewing and Steamboat Distillery, where your guests can sample some local brews or spirits.
