Christina and Taylor met in 2013 as UBC Chemistry students in the Science Co-op program. They got to know each other while studying together and applying for jobs. They both ended up being placed in Stamford CT for their first co-op position in 2014 (about an hour north of NYC by train). It should be noted that Christina got the original job posting, and Cytec liked both candidates so much they created a second position for Taylor.

Christina and Taylor both landed their second co-op position at the Max Planck Institute of Chemical Physics of Solids in Dresden, Germany.

They visited all sorts of cool places in Europe together, including Prague, Amsterdam, Vienna, Salzburg, Munich, Rome, Venice, Paris, London, and more!

They bonded over their passion for science (with a little bit of Taylor carrying Christina through third year o-chem), eating good food, exploring new cities, and playing video games

After graduating, Taylor went on to do his PhD in Chemistry and Christina went off to work in various places. They still enjoyed travelling together, but they found new interests as well - like Christina learning crochet and starting up an Etsy shop. Taylor always encouraged Christina to find what she was passionate about and to follow her dreams, whereas Christina had a much easier job since Taylor always knew he wanted to further pursue Chemistry!

They also enjoyed going on camping/road trips together, and one of Christina's favorite vacations was their trip to Banff! Christina never fails to convince Taylor to play a game of Scrabble with her during their camping trips (with the same argument every time about the validity of using the Scrabble Dictionary).

Taylor and Christina become parents to a little dog named Puppet! Taylor found Puppet on the Loved at Last Dog Rescue website. She was in a foster home in Iran, saved from being euthanized at the pound after being surrendered by her previous owner. They quickly learned that Puppet loves a cozy couch and does NOT like camping.

Now that Taylor and Christina make real adult money they are all-in on the DILDO (dual income little dog owner) life and can't wait to have more adventures (like this one in the ice caves in Iceland)!
