First Time Traveling

We understand that traveling (especially internationally) can raise a lot of questions. This page is intended to help answer all of those questions and put your mind at ease.

If you do not see your question answered here, please do not hesitate to reach out to Danielle or Nate.

Packing

When packing, it is easy to over pack while also forgetting some important items. Nate and Danielle have created a packing list that will be mailed out in the month closer to the wedding to help alleviate this issue.

Flights

Luggage

Luggage - what can you bring?

Most airlines allow a personal item and one carry-on for free and then checked bags for a fee. A personal item is typically considered as something like a purse, laptop bag, or backpack. A carry-on is typically a small suitcase. Personal items and carry-ons you personally carry with you. Checked bags you will drop off when you check into the airport and the airline is responsible to transporting them to your final destination.

Carry-on & Personal Items

In your personal item & carry-on it is important to pack anything that you do not want to lose. You should have small toiletries and at least a change of clothes in the case that your checked luggage would get lost. You are not allowed to bring liquids in these bags unless they are smaller the 4oz. All the liquids in these bags cannot exceed fitting in a quart sized baggie.

Checked Bag

If you are only staying the 3 nights, you most likely will NOT need a checked bag. If you do find yourself needing to check a bag, it is important to remember that it cannot exceed 50 Ilbs in weight. It is also suggested that you put some sort of identification on the outside of your bag as well as the inside (in case your tag gets ripped off). Checked bags are nice because they do not have as many regulations as carry-on items.
