Danielle was out with her friends at a bar in downtown Des Moines called Outlaws. She was celebrating Halloween dressed up as a "Rhinestone Cowgirl". Nate was out with his friends (not dressed as anything) also celebrating Halloween at Outlaws. As Danielle was leaving the bar, a guy grabbed her upper arm and spun her around. This guy then said, "You are the most beautiful women I have ever seen. I cannot let you leave here without getting your number". This would have been so romantic that Danielle would have instantly fell in love, but she became skeptical when his eyes were barley open enough to see her. Being cautious. she did not give him her number but instead, she gave him her snapchat. Cute, right? Well he then proceeded to never message her.....
After month, Nate kept posting on his story advice about how to remodel his house. Danielle, being the person she is, decided to provide her opinion. She swipped up on one of his stories telling him her opinion on what to do with the stair case. From there, we never stopped talking.
After chatting for awhile, Nate asked Danielle out on their first date. He suggested they spend their evening go karting and grabbing a bite to eat. He picked her up at her apartment, and Danielle opened the door and (according to Nate) she yelled "HEY". From there they went to the go karting place. When they were go karting, it was them and one other person. This other individual took go karting serious. They had the gloves and everything. When they finally took off, Nate and Danielle were just having fun, zooming around, and this other guy was trying to get his best time. Danielle, again, being the person she is, was taking up the track not letting him lap her. This is when Nate knew she was the one.
After the first date Nate and Danielle continued to talk, and since then have gone on many, many adventures.
At this point Nate and Danielle had looked at rings and they were ready for the next step. Danielle had come home from work after a long Friday teaching. Nate suggested they do their normal weekly date night, which consists of us trying a new restaurant in the Des Moines area. They went to a new restaurant, caught up on their days, and took they time to just relax. After dinner Nate suggested taking a walk across the Iowa Women of Achievement Bridge. Danielle has experessed to him earlier that year that she had never been across that bridge yet and that she always had thought it was so pretty lit up at night. They were excited to take a small stroll after dinner to watch the sun set, but Danielle could tell that something was off. Nate kept asking if we could get random people to take our photos. To which Danielle said "um, no, that is weird". After taking the small stroll on the bridge and heading back to the car, they both sat on a small bench next to the truck to watch the sunset. As they were getting up to leave, Nate propped up his phone to capture a picture of su with the sunset in the back ground, and that is when he got down on one knee!
Now, we are so excited to be able to celebrate our love!!
We are so thankful to everyone who has been apart of our journey.
