After Elyssa's long-winded rant about how she just needs to meet an NJB (nice Jewish boy), Jenna (the yenta extraordinaire) decides she knows just the guy - David! With some convincing, David decides he's "potentially open to it."

Officially dubbed, "Thank you Jenna" day, June 26 was the first day David and Elyssa met in person. In typical DC fashion it was at the congressional baseball game surrounded by a lot of friends and unathletic politicians. Elyssa had some underwhelming lemonade at the game, so for their first date, David took Elyssa for the best lemonade in DC. They began officially dating only 3 weeks later!

Standing on the red stairs in Times Square right before seeing Tootsie on Broadway, David told Elyssa he loves her for the first time (now you all know why Elyssa loves Times Square so much!).

After David's failed Europe trip, and Elyssa's postponed GRE, the two figured they might as well spend 24 hours a day together and see literally no one else (except David's stellar roommate, and now best man, Ben!) David, Elyssa, and Ben spent the next year and a half playing Pictionary, watching Chopped, and hiding from an insurrection on the Capitol a few blocks away!

After over a year living with David during COVID, Elyssa moved to Baltimore to pursue her MPH at Johns Hopkins. The next year consisted of many long facetime calls and weekly trips on the MARC train. Elyssa even made David this picture frame of several ticket stubs she saved from coming to visit him back in DC.

David's parents flew from Wisconsin to attend Elyssa's MPH graduation, and finally met Elyssa's parents in person for the first time. After graduation, Elyssa packed up and moved back to DC to their first ever apartment together!

Knowing it was the ONLY way he could actually surprise Elyssa; David spent the whole day decorating the apartment for an elaborate and one-of-a-kind apartment proposal. Following the proposal David had arranged a courtyard of friends and dinner with Elyssa's parents! (Elyssa said yes, btw!).

Elyssa and David adopted the cutest new family member - Apollo! As soon as David realized they had the same hair, it was love at first bark!
