The ceremony is on a private property near the Roche Harbor side of the island. Once you reach Bellevue Farm Road, follow that road until you reach signs for event.
Where should I park?
There should be room for around 20-30 cars at the ceremony site. We will have signs directing you where to park. Please avoid parking in the areas marked NO PARKING as you will block the trolleys or make some neighbors very angry.
For the reception, there is street parking all around downtown Friday Harbor. Please be aware that most of the street parking has time limits. We recommend you park wherever your lodging is, when possible, and walk to the Yacht Club.
What's the deal with these trolley's you keep talking about?
We have rented two trolleys to transport people from a stop (to be determined) near the Friday Harbor ferry to the ceremony site by Roche Harbor. The trolleys will then carry these people after the ceremony to the reception at San Juan Island Yacht Club. We are asking people to provide their contact information in the RSVP so that we can send more information on pick up location, etc. to those interested as we get closer. Priority is being given to people that will not have a car on island.
What should I wear?
Think garden party attire, but be sure you're comfortable! The ceremony is on grass: anyone wearing heels is recommended to avoid stilettos or other thin heels. Historically, weather on Friday Harbor in early August is sunny with temperature in the 70's F. We will have some umbrellas to help provide shade, but expect to be in the sun during the ceremony.
Why is your RSVP form so annoying?
To chase people away.
Jk.
Let me tell you, I think trying to figure out how to do the RSVPs with these trolleys was the hardest part of the whole wedding planning process. The website is very limited in what it will allow me to do at times. Bear with the unnecessary extra-ness of the form and we'll give you an extra taco at the wedding ;)
Why are you discouraging physical gifts? Are you both wedding Scrooges?
Have you seen how festive we are on any given holiday? Come on now.
For a couple reasons.
1. We are flying in for the wedding and Emily already needs three people to help stuff her suitcase into the overhead bin of the flight. When going somewhere for two nights.
2. We've been moving every two years or so, and will likely move again in another two years. Mitch already broke Emily's favorite set of whiskey glasses in the last move. Never again *sobbing*
But you didn't answer my question! What do I do???
Feel free to reach out to Emily, Mitch, or either of their parents if you have any more questions. We'll do our best to get back to you ASAP. Your call is very important to us :)
