How to Get There

***THE FERRY RESERVATION SYSTEM HAS CHANGED THIS SEASON***

The ferries run to Friday Harbor (aka San Juan Island) from Anacortes every 3 or so hours. Check the schedule for the seasonal times.

You can also see our Ferry Tips and Tricks for more advice on navigating this system.

If you are driving onto the ferry, we cannot emphasize this enough: BOOK EARLY!!! Reservations open up three months in advance and fill up quickly.

If you choose to walk onto the ferry: this is a great choice! There is plenty of dining and beautiful views to be found in the downtown of Friday Harbor! Watch our Things To Do tab for fun things to do here!

If you are choosing to make this a day trip or stay off island, there are plenty of places to stay nearby in Anacortes. We recommend you walk on to the ferry so you don't have to worry about reservations.

We are so appreciative of all of you making the trek up to this place that is so special to us. We can't wait to celebrate the day with you all!

PLEASE BOOK LODGING AT LEAST A YEAR IN ADVANCE or you won't have any! Places fill up very quickly in summer on San Juan Island

Planning Where to Stay

Picture of Planning Where to Stay

If you are planning to stay on the island, we recommend you stay on the Friday Harbor side of the island as that is where the ferry comes in and where most of the lodging on island is. The reception at the San Juan Island Yacht Club is only a 5 minute walk from the ferry terminal. We are providing limited transportation from Friday Harbor to the ceremony and from the ceremony to the Yacht Club for those interested.

A Place to Avoid Staying...

If you plan to book an Airbnb/VRBO on Westcott Bay (by the ceremony site on the Roche Harbor side of the island), please send us photos! There have been a few places that family friends have had problems with in the past.
