If you have never flown in to the Cancun International Airport, feel free to watch this video that walks you through all steps of arrival and what to expect:
Once you land, you will proceed to immigration first. This can take anywhere from 5 min to an hour depending on the amount of people landing at the same time. Be prepared to stand in line (use the restroom before you get in line/bring bottled water) because you can’t get out of line without going to the back of the line. Once it is your turn, you will approach the counter with your family group.
There is also new electronic immigration kiosks to the left when you arrive to immigration. Matt & Marti have had luck using those in the past. You do not need Clear or any other membership to use them.
You will need your passport(s) and boarding pass (electronic is OK) for either option.
After immigration, you will move to the baggage claim to get your luggage. You can follow the signs.
Depending on how long it took you to get through Immigration, your bags may already be there on a carousel waiting or it may take another 30-45 minutes. You never know what to expect!
Next, you will head through Customs with ALL of your luggage (checked, carry-on, and personal bags).
There is only one main exit from the international terminal. You will follow the signs for the airport exit and start heading for the door. They will randomly select people as you walk to be pulled aside and have your bags scanned and physically inspected. This is common and if you are pulled to the side for inspection, the rest of the group can wait for you right on the other side of that area until you are done.
You are almost there... before you get outside, you will have to walk through a sea of time share salesmen, rental car salesman, and taxi salesman. If you are still indoors KEEP WALKING. Do not stop and talk to anyone, give away your bags to anyone who wants to "help" or make eye contact until you get outside.
Last step, now that you are outside there will be a LOT of transfer companies and taxi drivers.
You will need to walk until you find Platform 56 under one of the long canopies that cover many sidewalks.
Their staff will be holding a "Seasons Transfers" sign with the Excellence Riviera Cancun logo. Their representatives wear beige pants, green shirts, and white hats with a "Seasons Tours" logo.
Seasons will send you an email with detailed information how to find them.
Provide your name and they will confirm on their log that they have a reservation for you. You may want to screenshot the email on your phone just in case there are any questions.
The drive to the resort is about 20-30 minutes. Your transfer should be covered but feel free to tip your driver for their service at your discretion.
