Jen and Brian had their first spark February 26, 2011, the night of American University's Founder's Day Ball. Jen was wearing a big, poofy, light-green princess dress and came to Solly's to meet up with some friends. Brian was seventh-wheeling with 3 couples. The group then went to Ben's Chili Bowl and when Brian got up to order food, Jen asked her friend Richard how to impress him. He mentioned that Brian is a big video game nerd. Jen mentioned a few games and that got Brian talking. They talked all the way back to their friend's house (Brandywine) where Brian was couch-surfing.

At the house, they played Mario Kart. (Jen won the most games and Brian later tried to save face by demonstrating his Starfox Skills.) A few days later, Brian came to Jen's house (Porter) for brunch. After talking more at brunch, Jen invited Brian to her brother's house in College Park to play board games. They talked and listened to music on the way. They played board games, swung on swings, and Brian let Jen nap on his shoulder on the metro ride back, giving him the nickname of Nap Guardian.

Jen went to LA, spending time with Anna, Caitlin, and Melinda, and texted, gchatted, or skyped Brian every day. On St. Patrick's Day, she met up with Brian in Adams Morgan to share some blueberry beer. Brian told her "If it's okay, I like you? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ ... I was telling Dan about how perfect the date... er... the night we went to Tom's house was. I didn't think I'd meet someone as cool as you here." And Jen said, "Yeah, I'm surprised how much I liked you, how soon." Then after almost a month after their first spark, they shared their first kiss. Another month went by and they made their relationship Facebook official. Since then, Brian and Jen have shared countless adventures and have fought many battles side by side. They are excited to gather with friends and family to celebrate their big day.
