Hunter and Jill met on May 3rd, 2019. They had both accepted summer positions in Yellowstone National Park, and they were both assigned to the Old Faithful area. They quickly became friends after meeting and within a week, they had decided they wanted to be more than friends. From May 2019 to July 2019, 3 months, they lived in the employee dorm together and worked at the lodges around Old Faithful. In August 2019, they left Yellowstone and embarked on a huge, month-long road-trip of the West.
In September 2019, their road trip came to an end, and Jill moved back to Tennessee for school and Hunter moved back to Florida for school also. Hunter and Jill were long distance for the next four years. During those four years they were long distance from Florida to Tennessee, California, and Utah, (Jill moved around a lot during those four years). In those four years they saw each other as much as they could, took tons of flights, took more cross-country road trips than they can count and never lost hope that one day they wouldn't have to be long distance anymore.
In May of 2023, Hunter decided to move to Utah, where Jill was living at the time. Long distance was officially over! Hunter arrived in Utah on his and Jill's four year anniversary of dating. Two months later, on June 30th, 2023, Hunter asked Jill to marry him, and she said, 'It took you long enough'. They had been together for exactly 50 months. The couple now live in Washington state and are excitedly planning their wedding.
Hunter and Jill are getting married on September 14th, 2024, and are so excited to finally be husband and wife and be together for the rest of their lives.
