Getting to Galveston

Amtrak

Amtrak stops on Galveston Island. Map routes on www.amtrak.com.

Fly & then Drive

Fly into either Bush Intercontinental or Hobby Airport in Houston. Then rent a car at the airport. Hobby to Galveston is approximately 40 miles. Bush to Galveston is approximately 70 miles.

Driving from Houston

Take 45 South (the Gulf Freeway) straight to Galveston. We recommend mapping directions from your starting location and avoiding tolls!
(Tolls can be tricky in Houston and some require a special toll tag.)





















Fly and then take a Shuttle

Shuttle services from Houston airports to Galveston are about $65-$75 round trip.

Galveston Island Trolley

The historic trolley is $1 for adults and minors ride free (exact change needed). The trolley has a downtown route and a seawall route. The trolleys pass each stop on the trolley route approximately every 30 minutes. A transfer between the Downtown and the Seawall Loop is included in the price.
