After attending his cousin's wedding in Ottawa, Ontario in August, 2019, Sean decided to change his flight to stay in London an extra day before travelling back to British Columbia (this decision proved to be a great decision). The extra day allowed him to have lunch with his mom during her break at St. Joseph's Hospital in London, Ontario. It was at this time he was introduced to a number of her co-workers, but there was one who unfortunately was not there; she was up north at her family's "camp" in Chapleau, Ontario.

After hearing about her and seeing some photos, Sean was shocked that this woman was single and took a keen interest. He asked his mom that the next time she sees Kalan, to let her know that her son thinks she is a pretty amazing woman and to give her his phone number.

A few weeks later, Sean received an Instagram friend request from Kalan, and the two began chatting. This led to multi-hour FaceTime conversations, and 10 days after connecting, Kalan booked a flight to Victoria, BC. The rest is, as they say, history.

Sean and Kalan have built a great life for themselves in London, Ontario and in July, 2024 (which also led to the 1-year wedding delay!), they welcomed Silas Douglas Donald Orr-Lynn to their family!
