Kalan was born and raised in the small town Chapleau, Ontario and always wanted to get married where she grew up at Moose Horn Lodge. (Fun fact: you can no longer be born in Chapleau as the hospital isn't equipped for it).

Nicknamed the friendliest town in the north, it is a very remote and rural northern Ontario town where people truly enjoy the outdoors during all four seasons. Home to the world's largest Crown game preserve, Chapleau also has large French and indigenous populations.

The town of Chapleau is located about a 15 minute drive from Moose Horn Lodge.
