C'est la Vie!

Hasliberg, Bern, Switzerland

Location: C'est la Vie (click for google maps link)

Engi, Hasliberg, BE, 6086, Switzerland

C'est la Vie is a 127-bed hotel/event space located in central Switzerland, reachable by car (1hr 20min from Zurich; 2hr from Basel; 2hr 20min from Lausanne) or public transit.

Airports

We recommend you fly into Zurich (ZRH) airport, which is a 1.5 hour drive or 2hour 40 minute public transit commute from C'est la Vie.

Alternative Airports:

EuroAirport Basel-Mulhouse-Freiburg (BSL): 2 hour drive, 3hr 30 minutes by public transportation.

Geneva Airport (GVA): 3 hour drive or 4.5 hours by public transportation.

Milano Malpensa Airport (MXP): 3.5 hour drive or 5.5 hours by public transportation.

Arrival by Car

Hasliberg is completely accessible by car. C'est la Vie has a gravel parking lot that can accommodate roughly 25 cars for free. Plenty of additional parking can be found at the Meiringen Hasliberg cable cars, 1 minute walk from the hotel.

Please do not park any vehicles in front of the hostel to ensure accessibility for emergency services.

Arrival by Public Transportation

Switzerland is known for having excellent public transportation! There is a bus stop and gondola station just a one-minute walk from the hotel.

Tips for Public Transit:

We recommend using the SBB app or SBB website for booking public transit in Switzerland. Google maps is usually very accurate, but the app is even more up-to-date and you can find all connections and book your tickets through the SBB app/website.

You can directly input the hotel address (C'est la vie

Engi, 6086 Hasliberg), or look for the destination "Hasliberg Reuti, Dorf" (bus stop) or "Hasliberg Reuti" (gondola station). Zurich Airport = Zürich Flughafen

Basel Airport = Basel EuroAirport

Geneva Airport = Geneve Aeroport

We recommend that you book train tickets early to save money! Trains in Switzerland are generally very on-time, but are also quite expensive. If you book early, look for a "Supersaver" ticket, which is a discounted ticket for that exact connection. These do sell out in advance!

When booking your ticket, make sure to input your name and birthday, and Select "Full Price" (not Half Fare unless you have the travel card). Point-to-Point Tickets are valid for that route at any time of the selected day, but might be more expensive if supersaver tickets are available.

If you plan to travel in Switzerland by train for several days, consider purchasing a Swiss Travel Pass, or looking into other discount options, such as a tourist Half Fare pass (valid 30 days)

Staying the Night

We chose C'est la Vie for it's beautiful location and the ability for us to celebrate all weekend long. We have booked the entire mountain hotel and paid up front. Therefore, any bed payments will go directly to Marcus or Katie (see Q + A tab for details).
