If I arrive to town early, will there be things to do?
Yes! Please look at the "Things to Do" tab. This quaint town has a lot to offer. Additionally, Katie and Evan will be in Lake Placid on Monday August 26. Feel free to let them know that you're in town!
For folks arriving in town early, will there be a 'welcome party' the night before the wedding?
Katie and Evan have not made any formal party plans, but if guests arrive in town early and want to hangout the night before, we can discuss and plan to meet at a larger-sized bar to try and accommodate a large crowd. Our suggestions are either: Lake Placid Club and Brewery or Big Z's at Lake Placid Lanes. Feel free to text Katie or Evan when you arrive into town and see what bar we end at for the night before.
Will there be a shuttle bus?
Yes! Katie and Evan hired a shuttle bus to take guests to and from the venue. The Shuttle will only be making two stops (1) the Cambria hotel, and (2) Whiteface Club and Resort.
The Shuttle from the hotel will leave at 3pm and 3:30pm.
The Shuttle from the venue will leave at 10pm and ~10:30pm.
What should I pack for the weekend?
At this point in the season, the Adirondacks are cooler than where you are visiting from. We'd say that its a "long sleeve shirt and shorts" or "short sleeve shirt and pants" type of weather. You know, that perfect 65-70 degree temperature. We'd suggest packing a swim suit if you want to hop in the pool or lake too! Otherwise, pack your wedding guest outfit, comfortable clothes, and PJs!
Are there free places to park?
Yes! Basically there is free parking at each end of Main Street (near The Cottage and Lake Placid Pub and Brewery), and there is a secret parking area [that fits about 5 cars] on the opposite side of Main Street on Cedars Way off of Mirror Lake Drive. Otherwise you can pay to park on Main Street.
I will put a picture of a map in the 'Things To Do Tab' that clearly shows where to park for free.
How do I RSVP?
Please RSVP online using the "RSVP" tab on this website. There will be several questions for you to fill out. If you are having trouble, please contact Katie (518) 316-0983.
What date do I have to RSVP by?
Please RSVP by July 14, 2024.
What is the dress code for the wedding?
Katie and Evan encourage everyone to wear bright colors and dress formal.
Are we (Katie and Evan) paying for your hotel room?
No. If you have booked the hotel and received a message like "Room rates and taxes will be paid by the bride and groom/planner, incidentals will be paid by the guests" that is wrong. You will be charged for your room. It has come to our attention that some of our guests were surprised by the thought that we were paying for your hotel room, but that was a mistake that the hotel made when extending our room block to accommodate more people. We are sorry for any confusion this may have caused. The hotel sent out a message to everyone who booked a room to explain and iron out the details.
