What is "Siesta"?
"The "siesta" can refer to the nap itself, or more generally to a period of the day, generally between 2 and 5 p.m. This period is used for sleep, as well as leisure, midday meals, or other activities." Some businesses may close during those hours, but since it will be summertime certain places may stay open during siesta. While restaurants generally remain open during this timeframe it's good to keep siesta in mind!
Is there anything else I should know?
Spaniards largest meal of the day is typically lunch, hence the siesta. Due to this, dinnertime might be considered late to some Americans, with restaurants more likely opening around 8pm. (Please do not order fabada for dinner! haha)
