Business/Cocktail.
This is an outdoor wedding in Maine, so there is no need for anyone to wear a tuxedo or ball gown. Suits are appropriate with/without ties. Khakis and a dress shirt and/or sports coat are fine. Women may wear dresses or whatever they are comfortable in to fit the dress code. We ask that you do not wear jeans, leggings or sweats.
What will the weather be like?
That is a million dollar question. It's looking like a colder, late summer day with highs in the low 70s during the day and a real feel closer to 45 at night. Bring a jacket! Rain is also on the forecast.
What type of food will be served?
Some of this will be a surprise, but we can share that we will have a cocktail hour with hors d'oeuvres. Dinner will feature several food stations with local ingredients and foods that we love. Our caterer is amazing, so come hungry!
Please let us know if you have any special dietary needs by August 01.
Can we drive to the venue?
The venue is home to a museum and the Bar Harbor Historical Society. It is an old mansion without a parking lot. There is a parking area, but we are limited to 30 cars and priority will be given to those who may have trouble walking from their hotel or from the street. PLEASE LET US KNOW IF YOU NEED PARKING ACCOMODATIONS.
Please see the parking/transportation tab for more information.
Are kids allowed?
Everyone we've invited is extremely important to us, so we want everyone to come celebrate. We will allow kids at the ceremony, but not at the reception.
Phones
This is less of a question and more of a request from us. We love our photographer and want to let her do her work, so we kindly ask that our guests do not take pictures and videos during the ceremony. Before we walk back down the aisle after being married, we will do a one minute photo opportunity where our guests can take pictures on personal devices. We thank you for understanding!
