Airports

There are two "major" airports to fly into, <a href="https://portlandjetport.org" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">PWM</a> (Portland, Maine) and <a href="https://flybangor.com" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">BGR </a>(Bangor, Maine). Bangor is the closest airport at 90 minutes away. It is a small airport and we would recommend booking your flight into Bangor around March/April to ensure you have the flight of your choice. There is a hotel attached to the airport and a few rental car places near by. Portland is a much bigger airport and flights are usually more accessible and cheaper, but it is a three hour drive to Bar Harbor. Portland is the biggest city in Maine and there is lots to explore before heading up the coast. The Augusta airport is about halfway between Portland and Bar Harbor, but flights are very limited and we've never flown through there. Feel free to contact us with questions about flying to Maine!

Hotels

We are working on getting a block of rooms, but some hotels are starting to book up for that weekend. The wedding venue is on West Street in Bar Harbor and some hotels are walking distance. There are hotels at various price points. There are also camp/glamp grounds and plenty of Airbnbs in the area. Bed and Breakfasts are fun places to stay. Ellsworth is a small town on the way to Bar Harbor. It's about a 30 minute drive. There are more chain hotels in Bangor, including attached to the airport, but that's about a 1.5 hour drive. We will update this page with hotel block information as soon as possible. There are some discounted rates<a href="https://www.HotelPlanner.com/EventPage6153144" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank"> here </a>that are not part of a hotel block. Double check the town before you book, as some of these listed are more than an hour away. As always, feel free to reach out to us with any questions!

Kayaking

One of the best ways to experience Acadia's views is to kayak on one of the many ponds located throughout the park. Long Pond is a well-known spot where you have a chance to see brilliant sunsets and wildlife such as loons. We are extremely grateful that our loved ones have made it through the pandemic healthy and we want to keep it that way. We will be complying with any and all state and federal orders regarding COVID-19. Right now, we should be able to proceed as planned; we will update here if anything changes. We are requiring our guests to either have proof of full vaccination at least 14 days prior to the wedding or proof of a negative COVID-19 test administered within 72 hours of the wedding. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding!

COVID-19

Wedding Parking/Transportation:There is parking available at the venue, but we are limited to 25spots, so please let us know if you need parking and we'll reservea spot for you. There is street parking in front of the venue, butit's metered until 8:00pm and Bar Harbor does closely monitorthe meters. Shuttle: A shuttle will begin picking up guests at the Acadia Inn at 3:45. It will loop between the Acadia Inn, Hampton Inn and Bar Harbor Inn and the venue. Feel free to catch the shuttle at any of those stops. YOU MUST BE OUTSIDE THESE STOPS FOR THE SHUTTLE AT 3:45pm. While it can only take 14 guests, the loops will be short. The ceremony starts at 4:30pm. After Wedding Transportation:The shuttle will be back starting at 8:30 to return guests to theHampton Inn, Acadia Inn and Bar Harbor Inn. The shuttle will make a few finalruns between 9:15-9:30 up to the after party at Bar HarborBeer Works. This is the last shuttle transportation available for the evening. After Party Parking:There is a big parking area behind Bar Harbor Beer Works.Parking in the lot and on the street will be free at that time. BarHarbor Beer Works is about a mile walk from the Acadia Inn andabout 0.4-0.7 mile walk from where most of the Airbnbs. It'sabout 0.2 miles from the Bar Harbor Inn. We recommend walking or carpooling to minimize the need for parking and driving. **There is no Uber or Lyft in Bar Harbor. There is a limited taxi service. We apologize for the inconvenience.**
